here's the problem with this: you already said ALL THAT SHIT before you knew anything at all about the faggot/nigger stuff.  at that point, all you had to go by was that she was living as a shut in and did not feel compelled to interact that much.  but now you are skewing things and come on don't do this when you know it's this obvious.  she didn't say BEING A SHUT IN IS NORMAL, she asked if there was anything really wrong with it.  she didn't say social interaction was worthless (she has a girlfriend and apparently two friends??), she said she didnt feel compelled to associate with people she didnt identify with and was okay with BEING ALONE (maybe this is due to internet company but w/e).  neither of these are even remotely similar to what you are saying she said and, what's more, there's nothing wrong with either.  guess what, sometimes i can be a shut in.  guess what else?  a lot of the time, i don't feel like talking to people, especially idiots i have nothing in common with.  i am willing to bet you are the same way unless you are a social butterfly and spend most of your free time out and about.  you are just putting words in her mouth so that it seems like the shit you were saying earlier was appropriate, but it wasn't.

yes???  i am also bored as hell but i know plenty of people who do the same thing every day and are not.  just like people don't get bored of playing the same games, watching the same movies, etc etc.  idk how it happens but it definitely happens.

I never once denied the possibility that somewhere out there is another activity or experience that I may significantly enjoy and I just haven't found it yet.

What I'm saying is, I've found enough stuff I like to do that I'm perfectly content with just enjoying what I've got.  If there's something else out there that I'd like, I don't mind if it passes me by because I've already got a lot of shit I enjoy on the go already, and if I end up growing out of any of my current tastes and/or finding new ones on accident I don't mind adapting.  I don't mind change or anything, I just don't see a need to do it right now.

Also just to clarify I do have a few other interests other than what I listed (swimming, biking, and amateur film-making, though these really are kind of secondary compared to gamin) and I do actually have a couple of friends as well as a significant other.  My point is, I'm close to these people, and I'd much rather have say, 3 or 4 people I'm really close to and THAT'S IT rather than 50 half-friends and acquaintences that I only thinly care for that I gained by participating in activities I had no interest in to begin with

I'm not bored with it at all, probably because if you're involved in the CREATION of something (say, an rmxp project) and you're passionate enough about it things usually change up quick enough to not be bored.  Also if you're a video game and movie buff you don't play/watch the same shit over and over.  Video games are intertaining precisely because there's many different genres and styles and individual titles.

the difference is that you have no idea how i live!  dissonance spelled out fairly well what her day to day life is like, whereas you just decided what my life is like based on a few small things that have no significance in my life.  i don't give a shit about doraemon or lazytown or any of that in my normal day to day life, it's just been blown out of proportion on GW, whereas dissonance clearly comes out and says "I spend my time on this and this and my friends are concerned and I like these things but not these things".

hmmm yes okay.  ridicule and shame can have a powerful impact!  but while i admitted it has mental ramifications, i didn't say it was necessarily bad.  imo if you want to live alone and go a lil crazy, that's your business!  i wouldn't make fun of the person until they "saw the light" because i don't think there's anything really wrong with it.  it's not like you calling her an ANIME FAGGOT because she mentioned it once is gong to CURE HER, and even if it did, who's to say she needs to be cured just because she enjoys living life as a hermit?

also my point is that the joke, while not being directly hateful, is still insensitive, considering the connotations and perceptions attached to the word.  racial insensitivity still qualifies as racism, even if it is not the DELIBERATELY CONTEMPTFUL kind.  idk why people think IT'S OKAY just because they didn't mean it as an insult when they said it.  saying the word in and of itself is a different kind of racism, i think.  it is less hateful but it's probably dumber/more ignorant in a way, and people should know better.
