Joaquin was awesome in most of the movies i've seen with him. I think he was just really high because he really didn't want to do this interview. That beard is messed but I guess thats a new look for him. Wish he would continue acting though :/

i don't get why everyone's mad at letterman, if it's not a joke and letterman didn't know what was going on, then how was he supposed to act?

if this were not a joke, it's not so much letterman who's bring a prick, but the audience is pretty much ROARING at every little movement he does. it's sad. if he was either some kind of crack head or if he was mentally ill, this would be a very serious and sad thing... not something to laugh about- espeically when his brother essentially died from this type of thing.

i understand a host has to try to be a host, but the people were being so stupid. it wasn't nearly that funny (joking or not).

agreed. especially since he was kind of in an awkward position.. he was trying to hard and liek "lol... let's laugh to lighten the awkward moment..."

okay stewart lee recently ended his set by putting a stuffed giraffe on his head and staring for about five minutes straight. guess what happened?

people started to laugh nervously and cheered when he finally took the giraffe off. when people don't know what's going on, we assume it's for a point or funny! the audience is not JERKS and neither is Letterman for going along with what is possibly a joke.

i think he handled it great for either situation, if it's a joke then he joked along with it, if it's not he handled himself in the best possible way

You can hear Letterman say "Good job" to Joaquin at the end of the interview. He was most likely in on it. I'm pretty certain that this is all for his mockumentary that is to come out in 2010 about how stupid people have become due to the media. He is renound for being a method actor after all.
