damn that vocalist is pretty dynamic for nu metal. he goes from some kind of squawking rap-dinosaur (my personal favorite) to sappy chorus vocals to creepy manson growl to RatM spoken-word to SoaD-style harmonics (like WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR).

That mall punk montage was pretty gay. It's like IM SO TRASHED OFF ONE BEER *moshes by himself to his IPod* *picks fight*

How do you pronounce this band anyway? I'm thinking Head-Pee as well.

Django only had one finger,its as big as four cats, and hes got a retractable leg so he can leap up at you better and you know what?He lights up at night, and hes got four ears.Two of them are for listening and the other two are kind of back-up ears,and his claws are as big as cups and for some reason hes got a tremendous fear of stamps and Mrs Doyle was tellin me that hes got magnets on his tail so if youre made out of metal he can attach himself to you,and instead of a mouth its got four arses

yeah the comparison is pretty valid, if a bit off-putting on first read. it's like if you were describing a friend of yours who was massively dumb

________ is to stupidity what Chaucer was to English.

the issue is his comparison is between four bands and you're drawing an analogy between the wrong ones when it's still the relationship that matters. example:

ghostface is to wu tang what pete wentz is to fallout boy.

pete wentz is awful and ghostface rules yet both are arguably the most popular members of their groups at the moment.

I knew they should have never taken analogies off the SAT.

well no i get the analogy is trying to be but it just seems like he's saying "Korn rules and hed PE sucks" when really the analogy doesn't work if you think about it. The Monkees is to the Beatles as Silly is to Artistic or whatever but korn and hed pe seem exactly the same to me as they both seem to be trying to take themselves kinda seriously.

the thing is you're just not supposed to do analogies like that. like up is to down as black is to white you can tell ok opposites but you can't really do analogies that aren't immediately obvious like you could argue that the monkees and hed pe are both simply newer bands with a same general sound as the beatles and korn but you're not really making any sort of statement there.

even your example is different because it's immediately obvious they're members of said whatever and not saying these two bands are in one genre, and these two bands are in another genre so even if you can tell me exactly what his post was trying to say it was completely superfluous

I remember in grade ten when their first (maybe second) album came out and I was like "this is a good band". I had awful music taste in highschool, and I knew it, but at least that was enjoyable. This is just awful.

Anyone remember Crazy Town (I think that is what they were called)? They had that song "Butterfly"? 2001/2002 was an awful year for people's ears.

actually, i was just making a quick statement that i didn't expect to be analyzed so damn much

what i really meant was that both latter bands were using similar musical formulas that their counterparts had already gained success through only to reach lesser recognition and credibility. that's all.

dude the monkees had their own tv show less credibility maybe but they were pretty recognized. also korn has no credibility either it's hard to go below none.
