BUT if i grew up in the 70s where the only game available was electric football i'd probably piss my pants seeing a cartoon i could control.
See I don't get this because
Thayer's Quest came out a year later, was a much better game and more interactive, and was still controlling a cartoon. I have yet to figure out why Dragon's Lair was the one that became so popular.
They released a DVD version of Thayer's Quest a few years ago, I feel like I read about a blu-ray version but maybe that was just because I read about the Dragon's Lair one.
Mostly irrelevant but one time I was in a car equipment shop with my brother and they had a display screen that was part of some CD-player set and the demo clip was a sequence from this game, it was the weirdest thing I ever saw considering it was maybe 6 years ago and the game had long been forgotten already.
