Thats four words.

How much is 400 points?

I'd bet a million greenbacks that Versus was something they could've easily put in release but held back to charge a premium DLC fee for.

A MILLION GREENBACKS. That's a lot of Street Fighter IV costume palette swaps!

The next Starcraft will feature downloadable voice packs at 3.99 a pop that add new lines of dialogue to your favourite units.

Not really, but imagine....

Indeed that would be rather odd, but I totally agree with you. It does feel like it should have been there from the start, also they announced it in the middle of the game's development so that just further proved the point that Capcom is desperate for money so they just decided to throw it as an expansion(and with today's economy, who isn't).

I played the new Verses DLC at my friend's house today, and it is half assed. One mode is basically like Call of Duty World at War's nazi zombies mode where you and 4 others have to survive but try to get a higher score than each other at the same time. Then there is a basic deathmatch mode which is self explanatory. It wouldn't be too bad if you could actually fucking move and shoot at the same time, which makes the deathmatch mode pretty useless since you can't actually move and shoot, you only stand their and just shoot at each other until one falls. That's what it basically is! A fucking falling contest! I liked the competitive survival mode though but it feels very similar to mercs which comes with the game, so its basically that but you can add 2+ players and a competitive element. The only thing that would stop me from downloading this half assed shit is that it is 400 MS points, four words: NOT FUCKING WORTH IT.

oh man I can't remember what game had a battle mode exactly like that maybe it was Winback or something but it was the same exact problem where you just stood in place and tried not to die first but games were allowed to be retarded back then because it felt like they only half knew what they were doing with 3D anyway

there should be a limit on how substantial a thing you can do as a download, at least back in the PS1/PS2 days I think there was a few cases of extra/bonus crap but it was something from Playstation Underground and it was basically stuff that could fit on a memory card not whole modes of gameplay (am I remembering this right, wouldn't they have something like an extra costume that you could download onto the memory card and somehow load it into the game)

to be fair, a lot of the time you just wouldn't get the DLC at all if it wasn't a profitable venture for the company.

even the main counterexample to this, TF2, isn't quite right because i'm pretty sure the DLC was a big factor in sales and TF2 had almost exponential profits as time went on and is STILL making shitloads of money.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.
