There is no true law governing renting/leasing.
It works on the concept of, as an owner, you're doing a favor for someone.
I'm not kidding either.
It's assumed that, as a landlord:
a) You care for the property
b) You own the property, and
c) You're the one solely responsible for everything that goes on at that property.
Which, in turn, revokes all rights the leasee might have concerning the nature of their occupation of said premises.
Simply put, the landlord can, and most likely, will evict you the moment he sees fit in order to save his own ass/property.
