you have to learn how to face the bosses, that's all

you can get through the game with uneffective equipment and stats until you get to the fake last boss, where if you're not prepared right, you pretty much don't stand a chance unless you coop


and if you get through it by cooping, you'll have a hell of a hard time in your first newgame+

also, the stat symbols are never explained, you have to check them up and memorize what they mean ;/

When you figure out how this game works, with players basically giving tips to each other as messages or just popping up to momentarily aid you, if you think outside the game, a wiki is the closest fitting thing for this mechanism

got the game yesterday and played for a bit and had a blast.
I got trolled into jumping from the highest point in the Nexus.

Also, rolled a thief and not sure if it was a well suited choice for a first character.

A thief stats has one of the highest starting base stats and is almost equal to one other class then the other class chooses.  So he's good to start with but he's harder to Lv up since his starting Demon soul Lv is higher... royals (or what ever there called)  May be the hardest to start with but they can be full customizable since you choose where you would like to allocate points since there soul LV is 1 also making the first few allocated-able points cheep. (after beating the first boss.)

False King is hard as hell aswell. I'm pretty much boned because I have stupid stats and stupid equipment (no actually good weapons and my only two uniques are the Scraping Spear (terribly pointless against regular enemies) and the Dragon Bone Smasher (incredibly powerful but can't be used in all situations, especially not False King))

As a sad result I stopped playing the game since I have to farm for shit, level, get weapins, just so False King doesn't rape me and newgame+ too

I hated the False King  but I beat him with a Week weapon in fact I love my week weapon because it's fast and leaves barley any week points with a shield (other then gay magic).BTW the week weapon I use is Scimitar+5 or was it a 6.(and I killed a few week ass dark souls... even one with a Dragon Bone Smasher on a section in the prison level where it was in his favor (tight and narrow spaces IE where the jail cells are.) but he almost had me because of the NPC that crawed up my back when I was trying to doge.
