WC3 has a huge custom content userbase, a lot of the maps aren't really RTS maps.

it's also really easy to just play. as long as you have like 45 mins you can hop on and play a game. it's not really an all day thing like an MMO

well no one likes losing and when you have a completly new player on your team you're going to lose. a beginner is a terrible liability in this game so your best chance would be to host/join a "noob only" game or something. sure not everyone may be beginners but atleast no one will yell at you for sucking.

Who's a character that would be easy(ier) to pick up?

Edit: Oh, and I always tell people before the match starts that I'm new and ask if it's alright etc. so it's not like they don't have a choice or that I'm forcing my imbecile self on them.

We have like 8+ people here so we could go and do some practice rounds today if people aren't quite familiar with the game yet.

If you want an easy hero to play then I'd suggest Kunkka, Dragon Knight, Dark Seer, Gondar, Storm or Rikimaru to name a few.
