Lemmy plays a character in it, but the point of the game is that your main character is a roadie at the start, a complete nobody, and he rises up to the top.

Also Jack Black is a bit more of an accomplished actor than Lemmy.

Not really, Lemmy's been pretending to play music for like 40 years.

Warning, this is ajoke post, I once did the rigging for motorhead at my local venue and they were a good live act

I do kind of miss when video games were their own thing and sure there were always games based on movies and everything but there were so many games back in the old days which were just so weird because they weren't really worried about appealing to anyone, like some famous game characters probably didn't involve much of a thought process other 'we need something that moves'

it's weird seeing like real dudes in videogames is all, and I dunno I don't consider this like actors getting game roles instead of movie roles, it's more like didn't Hulk Hogan or someone have a game that was like Hulk Hogan saving the world but not a WWF game, but still using the whole Hulk Hogan persona? It's more like that

like Morgan Freeman couldn't have a game because this seems to be the same persona Jack Black uses in everything while Morgan Freeman doesn't really have a consistent persona, like I dunno if Samuel Jackson did a game I could see that because Samuel Jackson is always kind of Samuel Jackson in his movies

Edit: I guess I consider it more like an evolved version of a Jack Black action figure like his dude in this game could totally be an action figure but this is like totally awesome adventure for your jack black action figure that beats the crap out of your imagination

Edit: I didn't play Indigo Prophecy but it's something like weird occult murder mystery right? Like that would have to be the Morgan Freeman game imo, like something that could've been a movie but they made it as a game instead and yet it 'stars' someone famous - but I'm kind of thinking that because he was in Seven and I dunno it's like a couple of years ago they'd have a Morgan Freeman-looking guy they just couldn't use his exact likeness everything in games has sort of already been a successful idea in some other medium (yeah I don't think games are art sorry) the only games I still like seem like the designers were totally aware of what they were referencing, like Resident Evil and stuff, the point isn't that there's a horror game like there are horror movies, it sort of like exists in the universe of every bad horror movie ever and that's where the awesomeness comes in

Edit: Wouldn't it be weird if a game was just suddenly starring a famous actor like there was a new Mario game with Morgan Freeman in it

Edit: What I'm trying to say is that all this stuff is still based on the persona and someone with a well-known persona to begin with and it's not even being famous as an actor it has to be someone typecast or who is just supposed to be the same character in every movie like the following people could have a game if they haven't already - Jack Black Samuel Jackson Bruce Willis Steven Seagal Jay and Silent Bob Larry the Cable Guy

like I don't think Nicole Kidman would ever star in a game with her likeness and stuff just to name a random person (yeah I couldn't think of any actresses for the list only one that comes to mind is someone like Pamela Anderson etc because she's always Pamela Anderson)

like I was saying I thought it was funnier when characters in videogames were this composite of everyone from American pop culture (like remember Final Fight had that guy named ANDORE who was clearly Andre the Giant) and pretty much everyone from Metal Gear is someone right

Edit: Also I was saying even though there are other action movie stars who would probably be cool to see in a videogame I think it'd have to be Bruce Willis because he's always bald angry white guy

basically if they were in an SNES game in the 90's as some generic sprite and you wouldn't look up the game today and instantly recognize who it was supposed to be in some aha moment this person wouldn't literally star in a game today (like try to imagine Jack Black as a Street Fighter character called J. BLACK etc)

Edit: Everybody knows Balrog was M. Bison in Japan and was supposed to be Mike Tyson right

Edit: I just realized I could've summed up my whole idea with something like "Jack Black? I thought he WAS a videogame character hahaha" oh well enjoy the Andre the Giant trivia

also half the people on the list might've been ripped off for videogame characters already (wasn't there a King of Fighters character who looked just like Steven Seagal)

Bruce Willis did star in a video game already, two really and one of them was actually good. So with that in mind, I might play this. Jack Black has a taste of humor I don't really like.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

was it like an original game or a Die Hard one

because the 50 Cent game was still weird at the time because it was like... just him in a game, it wasn't a movie thing was it

Edit: there probably is a page all about thinly disguised celebrities in games right because I'm kind of interested in that now

Edit: http://fightingstreet.com/folders/variousinfofolder/ripofffolder/ripoffpage4.html haha this is very detailed

Edit: Wow Q probably is based on the Question

some of those are stretching it but some are pretty close

I think Sweet Home was a movie too

but I meant more like the characters and stuff they all look VAGUELY FAMILIAR like I don't know if it's just exaggerated idea of what the average American looks like due to tv/movies or if they used specific movies as a reference I mean not too many characters look all that weird other than Wesker and I guess more recently everybody's looked a lot less like the average dude with steroid Chris and emo-looking Leon but I thought it was so funny in the early games where you were just a dude (with really bad voice acting)

Actually Bruce Willis did star in a game that had no connection to a movie

I actually remember this game because I had one of those old PS1 demo discs with it on it.

what about nicholas cage?  i could imagine him in some action adventure suspense game.  2010... Nicholas Cage stars in MISUNDERSTOOD PATRIOT IV: DANGER IN D.C.

yeah I guess, but he's not like one-dimensional enough to be acceptable as a videogame character

more like guy from Evil Dead Mr. T Wilford Brimley

Sorry to everyone who likes Jack Black, but I hate him to no end. Don't really know why but I never really got the hype surrounding pick of destiny and I certainly don't get the hype surrounding this game ...

We're hyped about this game because it's written by Tim Schafer, not because Jack Black is in it.

This. Tenacious D is alright in a quirky kind of way and in that sense I like Jack Black... in film sense no... has he made a good film?

School of Rock was really funny.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

who the fuck is that?

no people are paying attention to the game for jack black. thats why. tim schafer who the fuck is that? jesus.

its like saying people are into Star Trek because of the actor in it.
