Sonic Youth have announced a tour of the US to support the release of their new album "The Eternal".

The outing will kick off on June 28 in Chicago and includes a performance at the United Palace Theatre in New York.

The record is the follow-up to 2006’s "Rather Ripped" and was produced by John Agnello, who’s previously worked with Dinosaur Jr..

okay so sonic youth are going on tour and i'd really like to see them. it would be cool to turn this into a GW EVENT thing and have a bunch of us go.

ps the 9:30 club in DC rules, The National in Richmond is okay and its the closest one to me 8)

i'd be willing to go as far as Philly if it's just an overnight thing or maybe even NYC if its a 2 or 3 day thing (ie if i can find somewhere to crash)

idk, i'm thinking DC would probably be the best option. it's pretty much in the middle of the east coast!

If I was more able to, I'd definitely go, but I don't see me being able to afford a flight to the east coast of the US during these dates. I don't know though, if I have money this would be something I'd consider using it on.
