what has abrams done that has been good?  lost is a really fantastically dumb show and probably one of the cheapest abusers of SUSPENSE i've ever seen.  mission impossible 3 blew.  armageddon blew.  fringe blows.  cloverfield was really contrived and hackneyed.  felicity is... felicity.  he's never been involved in anything good!

what has jj abrams made that is really terrible?
Fringe.

Also this X man movie looks dumb as all hell but star trek doesn't look too bad. I don't mind a dumb exhibition of special effects but only once in a while and I haven't watched anything like that in a long time.

whoa like 8 posts I since then I gotta enable that thing

Why am I the only person on GW who doesn't hate Lost? Like, it's one of the only things I really really have to look forward to in life.

oh weird. i watched it with my friends a couple times last year but that was mostly an excuse to hang out and laugh at inappropriately dramatic music.

jesus christ psyburn

you should try playing left 4 dead with psyburn. he got 3 successive servers to hate him.

in a lovable way though

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

av club also has a fervent american idol fanbase, interviewed a guy from the Big Bang Theory about aspergers, and blogged the entire season of the us version of LIFE ON MARS that no one watched or liked. like i like their site a lot and actually read the tv thing all the time but its run by different bloggers so it might not be a consensus.

there is a huge fanbase for Lost season 1 though and loads of people are like IT WAS GREAT TV so there's always that, but no one talks about it much now, probably because they never went anywhere or had anywhere to go and audiences wised up.

district 9 sounds kinda okay.  i had a soft spot for ALIEN NATION as a kid, though.  not many people talk about aliens from a SOCIAL FRICTION//BIGOTRY perspective.  i wonder if the show was any good

nah im pretty sure its dumb as hell

Yeah, this is pretty much right.

I watched the trailer for this movie and at the end, it felt as if someone had urinated into my mouth.  It looks like a generic action film with a the Star Trek IP taped (poorly) on top.

I'll be honest I actually sat down and devoted a bit of thought to the last BIG SUMMER MOVIE I enjoyed to cut off the people saying WELL YOU JUST HATE THOSE MOVIES HUH and realized other than movies like CRANK or whatever it's been a while.

idk the Incredibles? Ratatouille? those little shitty Pixar movies I would say are at times even good despite the fact I'm not a child or have a bone of whimsy. but honestly for something marketed to me what's a good one? I'm posing this to everyone, what's the last BIG BUDGET MOVIE aimed to our demographic you could honestly say you enjoyed in the past like four years as more than a brain shutoff?

there has to be something I'm forgetting here, is the thing. I know that's not the point of summer blockbusters but there's gotta be something!
