Not sure if Chef already saw this (or what his name is on GW or if he even posts here any more) but since he played Dota with us for a bit I figured he might get a kick out of this.

For the lazy (since it's less than five seconds into the video): Earthshaker Chaos Dunks!

I thought I was alone in thinking that emerald was superior. I just got to the game myself and 50 hours in, just an hour or two after beating the elite four and exploring some of the additional content I felt very underwhelmed. It's nice that they mixed the types up a bit, going out of their way to counter the obvious type counters for their roster (ie logic defying surfs and earthquakes) but the end it was still way too familiar a formula for me to give this the credit it seemed to have wanted by changing only in aesthetics alone (by the way thanks for adding load times to areas who's sole purpose for existing was to showcase alternate viewing angles).

My initial Elite Four group was...

Samurott - Balanced stats overall. Grass Knot and X-Scissor proved to be very useful.

Scrafty - Shed skin seems to benefit single play more than online play, which worked out great for me.

Sigilyph - Crazy speed, decent evs, hidden power: dragon. Very situational. Sure,  she was my second hardest hitter, but she cannot compete with my next one.

Darmanitan - Crazy speed, does 3/4 damage to fire resist pokemon with flare blitz.... what a champ. Sheer Force and Life orb stacking on flare blitz has to be the single most powerful non legendary attack in the game.

Fraxure - basically canon fodder to keep the other pokemon up. It was much too slow to compete the first time around.

Larvesta - Exp leech. It wasn't until it got to about lvl 52 that I realized you could just catch a volcarona post elite four round 1 at that sand resort place. I feel like I wasted my time since I raised that Larvesta since lvl 1 and it was never good enough to hold it's own in battle with it's gimped move pool and speed. I then proceeded to abuse save/ reload cycles until I caught a modest Volcarona. Probably not the best option for competitive play (which would most likely be timid) but I'm sure it will get me through the game without feeling like I'm cheesing it too badly.  It does have some awesome stats and type coverage though... it's an interesting mix for sure.

I never felt so empty after watching a documentary as I did after seeing American, The Bill Hicks Story.

I've always admired the guy. His brand of observation wasn't for everyone but it always struck a cord with me. After finding out more about him and watching his life unfold as his talents elevated him to new heights... half way through his story it ends. It just ends.

Saw bits and pieces of Dragon Age 2.

Everything took place in copy/ pasted areas of a single town every time I walked by. Apparently this is what the entire game is like. I had no desire to play Mass Effect one or two or DA: Origins and I have even less desire to play this.

I'm curious... of the transpeople you know how many of them would you say made their decision based on gender role vs the way it reflects their sexual proclivities? I ask this because of the people I know who've decided to take this route in life the reasons for doing so is varied... but is almost exclusively [and ][/and] a matter of sexual orientation. Granted I only know F2Ms personally but it seems that for the most part deciding to live the life as a tansperson was a matter of coping with their tastes rather than 'being born the wrong gender'. If it helps make it easier to understand why I would think this way, the people I know are in their early 20s, pre-op (binders, hair cuts, that sort of thing), and with the exception of one, who identifies as a straight male and has remained single, are in relationships with other men.... two of them identifying as gay males and another identifying as a bisexual male but with a straight male look/ persona.

Berserk could have been pretty good if it wasn't for all of the violence, rape, and 2/3 of the storyline.

I think the last time I took a serious effort to digitally paint anything was like three or four years ago. Been doing comic work in the mean time which isn't exactly the most stimulating type of work.

I know the ins and outs though and if time permits I'll start doing more and more of these for artist weekly and in a few months I should get pretty good at it.

Sure, that's how it went in the video.... but there are alternate messages under certain conditions. Like if the same champ gets it twice or if an enemy gets it while one of their teammates already has the spree.... I think there is also a different message for a spree going for 10+ kills. What I'm saying is that I think I heard that particular one under other conditions.

I think I've heard legendary kill as one of the spree kill messages (like... in a 14+ streak) but I definitely've never heard Penta kill.

Does Penta kill have a sound effect yet? I got it a few times but it never sounded off for me.

This is the saddest thing...

Quote
So I got a Japanese Ditto off the global trade station in Pokemon to find it was holding mail.
At first I thought it was just gibberish then I quickly realized he was talking about whats going on in Japan with the earthquake and what not.
DONT WORRY JAPAN. YOUR HERO IS ON HIS WAY.

You know.... I'd really love to play this game.  I know a lot about it and have been watching gametable and podcast sessions for well over a year now (what can I say, most of it - when the combat isn't dragging on - can be pretty entertaining depending on who you are watching. Anyway, I have a very good grasp of the game and have only to... acquire the handbooks (other than monster the monster manuals, which I always get) and actually start building a character and getting myself into a session.

If you aren't into handholding that's tine.... but if not here do you guys have any suggestions for learning how to play and actually playing this game once and for all on the internet (other than something awful, after all this time I still don't have an account).

To give you an idea as to what I'd like to try... I'd prefer a shardmind warlock. If not that I'd take something less complicated for my first run and try a warlord of some sort.

I'm not very good with paintstuff. I'm years out of practice and even then I wasn't that good.

Look at these purple mountains majesty.

Wait till your father gets home
Dynasty
uh...

This is all I could remember. I know plenty of titles but the problem was trying to remember whether or not it had a vicious remake and that was indeed a tough one.

It's the only thing we were taught about them in public schools.
