the japanese tea ceremony I went to was actually pretty cool. I was kind of worried for reasons that are probably obvious, and some of that still showed up in small amounts, but for the most part they managed to make it singularly a cultural experience which is what I was looking for. it was in a japanese tea house & garden established in the 19th century (during the centennial celebration/first world's fair) so maybe that is why it has been able to maintain its authenticity. also met a neat girl with weird hair.

s;ept 5-7 hours these past 4 days. pluerisy (sp?) has made it so that if i move in sleep and land on the wrong side, my lung is in agony and i wake up, which added with my usual bad insomnia means i suck at sleeping.

I'm at home now but its a satellite thing as far as I know. We have these four domes that receive and transmit different signals. One is GPS I think and another is the internet and phone systems and maybe emergency signals too I don't know much about them. I have to put on a harness and climb up where the radars transmitters are and clean them every month cus if they get too dirty they won't work right. Also if it rains too heavily they won't work either.

Also they're slow as fuck. The public ones are barely faster than dialup but the office computers for some of the officers and safety department are a tad bit faster than that mostly.

Having friends is much GRRR than being a lonly nerd. Like, everybody is so two-faced and their personalities change depending on what friend they're with, plus despite being at a uni renowned for it's creativity areas, trendy liberal arty casual types are virtually non-existant, and everybody seems to be a clone of everybody else (and how the fuck did grey and pink stripy cardigans become fashionable?)
I mean, I kind of like my friends but in the same time, having to deal with all the lying and egotism and pretense is suchhh a drag. My best friend is cool, I may be moving to denmark with her in september, but when she's with certain other friends she totally changes.
