I've been playing Unreal Tournament 3 and Demigod for PC.  UT is fast and fun but only for a short while.  Demigod is...okay.  The music and graphics are good.  Gameplay is smooth but it's kind of boring.  I just can't get into RTS games these days.

I've been hankering for a good solid and lengthy RPG though.  Any recommendations?  The Witcher looks promising...

I don't want to be a party pooper or anything but this game doesn't look good.  The title screen alone screams Mr. Big T.  And not just for the penis thing.  You've got mismatched facesets, slightly altered RTp graphics, ugly dialogue boxes, randomized looking maps all squashed into one big mess of a game.  I know people will think I'm a shallow bitch for just basing this game on looks but graphics(especially rm2k3 graphics) are easy to fix.  There are plenty of consistent face graphics and system menus out there.  You don't have to look hard for these things...

1. The Beatles
2. Pinback
3. Keane
4. Coldplay
5. Audioslave

I like britpop.  Too bad about Audioslave.  They should've stuck together a little while longer.  Loved their old school metal sound.

I've been watching a lot of LOST online.  Can't wait for the 6th season next year.  It's a hell of a long time to wait for a new season but the writers are so damn talented I could care less.  As long as they give it a decent ending that hopefully makes sense, I'll be happy.  I have to admit though, season 5 was weak.  Especially compared to the first 3 seasons.  The show may have gotten worse but it's still manages to be better than most other shows on TV.

Another show I've been watching with vague interest is the mentalist.  Simon Baker's character is great but the rest of the cast blows.  The stories aren't that good either.  It does have a really good soundtrack though.

Last movie I saw was the Dark Crystal on DVD.  This is my second time seeing it.  I was about 10 when I first saw it.  I thought it was awesome back then and continues to be awesome to this day.  Most movies I've seen as a kid don't live up to the fond memories.  Beautiful art direction.  The style and strangeness of it all is still seen today in films like Pan's Labrynth and Hellboy.  I'm happy for that.

Joachim was gay?  I'd say he was maybe flamboyant or eccentric but whatever.  Guess it takes one to know one.
Games that no one really played but should have:
1.  Gungrave:  Gamplay and graphics weren't its' strong points but the game makes up for all that in atmosphere and story.  The cut scenes are brilliant.  Plus the music was done by Tsueno Imahori(Trigun).

2.  Megaman X Command Mission:  Beautifully cell shaded graphics.  Catchy Megaman tunes.  Solid turn based combat with a touch of real time.  Even the story was decent.

3.  Guilty Gear XX2:  Best 2d fighter since Street Fighter.  The heavy metal motif suits the game.  Amazing soundtrack.  Fantastic roster of characters.  Convoluted storyline that may or may not make sense to you.  The dialogue between the characters are really entertaining.

Is it though? Xbox 360 has a generally better video card and unified memory architecture, and while there might be potential for optimizing the Cell processor, it's reportedly too complex and many developers might not bother with pushing it to its limits, especially when they're making cross platform games.

I've always wondered about this.  I haven't looked at the specs or anything.  However, I have read reviews for mutli platform games(games that are out for both systems) and the 360 always seems to have "the better version" with faster load times AND crisper graphics.  Is the PS3 really more powerful? :fogetshrug:

The last RPG I beat was Tales of the Abyss.  I enjoyed the beginning of it with the main character(forgot his name) being a stuck up bastard all the time.  But I hated how he ends up getting all emo at the end.  The RPG I'm currently playing is Rogue Galaxy but I haven't had the time to play it lately because school.  I made it to Planet Alisia but I think that's just a sidequest...

I remember playing the 4th one in the Arcades.  Didn't like it very much.  And it wasn't just the controls.  I just don't like the character designs.  Most fighting games succeed just by having flash, style and a simple control scheme.  This one lacks all of the above.

Anyone seen the commercial for this game?  The song used in that commercial is also used as the theme song for the TV show House.  Anyone know who did it?

I like Mike Shinoda but the other singer is just a pain to listen to.  I'd have to say Breaking the habit is their best song.  But I think Mike Shinoda should go the solo route like he did with fort minor, which is a good CD by the way.

Daft Punk's Discovery is the best.

Since I Left You by The Avalanches is the best album to come out of Australia. It's all samples and has great appeal since it's so varied. I'd call it the ultimate party album it is motherfucking COOL.

Completely agree.  No one does it better than Daft Punk.  Brian Transeau pulled off some good song too.  He does repeat/remix way too many of his songs.  Another good band is the Crystal Method.  Their first album Vegas is pretty funky.

Hilarious. But a bit graphic and too much cussin for me.
Strange thing to say for someone who's got a Big Bird giving the finger in his avatar.

It's a movie I'd like to see but I just don't have the time.  Maybe on DVD...

Currently reading Evangelion Manga.  I've only seen episodes of the TV show here and there but the manga is turning a lot better.  Seeing as the creators really didn't where they were going with it in the first place, I'm not surprised.  They should consider adapting it and maybe "redo" the whole series without blowing all their finances this time around.
