okami.

so far some of the brush stuff is sort of annoying it doesn't seem to register some moves. maybe i'm just still getting accustomed to drawing a straight horizontal line. some of my friends said this game was cool but aside from the graphics i'm not sure how much i like it. the brush idea is neat but im not sure how well works.

anyone else played it?

Yeah I played it. I thought it was pretty fun but I have not beaten it.

It brought me back though. Reminded me of the days of playing Spyro for some reason.

I got Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for Christmas so I've just started that. It's a pretty good game! I really like the Western Setting and I think they've pulled it off quite well. I didn't hear a lot about it which is surprising because I've been impressed so far. Maybe a game in which the opening scenes see you gunning down The Union with a big cannon wasn't very well received stateside?

bought Shadow Complex on xbox arcade and started playing a little bit of it. i've been in the mood for a new oldschool-inspired platformer, and this game meets that categorization, even if it doesn't really do anything else. it's vaguely fun i guess, but it's rather overwhelmingly stupid. the design of the game is fairly sharp and mostly intuitive, but it's a really stupid fucking game.

i feel a little bad for them. they admittedly tried to be as much like metroid as possible, and pull it off with surprising accuracy, with one major exception: no atmosphere at all. it's weird, just ZERO ATMOSPHERE. virtually no music, bland uninteresting visuals, dull and repetitive enemies, nauseating and predictable story, no sense of mystery. it's like a fucking ROBOT analyzed metroid and took all the mundane technical elements and totally overlooked any sort of life or mood whatsoever which, as far as i'm concerned, was what really separated metroid from other games of that type. they went through the trouble of making a metroid clone, without really understanding metroid. it's actually pretty sad. it's a miracle these people have not accidentally electrocuted themselves or something.

what makes it worse is that they actually push the game as some legitimate story-telling effort, simply because they got famed homophobe orson scott card to shit out some worthless story premise and got some absolutely dreadful star trek fanfiction writer to pen the dialogue. i'm only about two or three hours into the game, but it's probably the WORST storytelling i've seen in a game in a long time. other games like oblivion get a free pass in this case because it's clear that they didn't really give a shit, but this game actually attempts to tell a story and fails miserably. they actually go out of their way to be careful with cutscene placement and distributing information through random fuckers talking, but the whole thing feels extremely forced and stilted with nauseating voice acting. like it's really clear that they had a big map of the game with a bunch of stickers that said INSERT PLOT INFORMATION HERE and the writer would come in and scribble the first cliche rubbish to come to his mind and they would all sit around the warm glow of the computers furiously masturbating to their homegrown orson scott card fanfiction.

despite this, i guess the game is fairly fun but only if you're really too lazy to pick up one of the old metroid games and just play that. i kinda wish i had considered this going in. i would have just grabbed one of the old metroid roms, played through them again, saved myself 15 bucks, and had a much more enjoyable/rewarding experience. shadow complex contributes next to nothing to platformers except this really jarring 2.5D that does nothing but make the controls less intuitive and feature thousands of random walkways that the main character instinctively knows not to go down(i guess he knows the game is not 3D?!?).

i'll finish the game because i don't completely hate it, but i will not be giving my money to game companies that name themselves CHAIR in the future. i really should have known better than to do something so foolish!

Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings And The Lost ocean....where to start definitely one of the best games ive ever played if you have a gamecube or a wii this is a definite buy this one of those few games i actually stayed up until 5 a.m in the morning just playing, the battles never seem to get repetitive due to the random card order the music is beautiful the graphics are beautiful voice acting isnt that good but hey if you really find them bad just turn them off-I'm 20 hours into the game and have never been bored once, this game is so very good.

Also if your getting this be sure to get the prequel origins its upto you what order you play them but i prefer the order they were made the prequel (baten kaitos origins) improved everything eternal wings had wrong but eternal wings from what i hear has a better story and battle system.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNtWj4bStOY&feature=related -Some of the great music this game has to offer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B64f48ewdo&feature=related -A weird track but in no means bad.

I've been playing Final Fantasy tactics War of the lions for the 3rd time.

I have also been researching about birth by sleep and how they are planning to patch it.

the dialogue is bad (I AM THE DUKE LETO ATREIDES YOUR FATHER) , both the adventure and strategy elements are really basic, it takes too long to fly around in the cd version and in a few instances you can break the story, but i really like dune.

but of course it was overshadowed by dune 2 and the whole rts genre
glorious salty future

Bought the Special Edition Dissidia a couple days ago and it's been giving me something to play while I hunt down where I put my DSi and my brother steals the PS3 for MWF2 and inFamous (My game aswell, urgh -.-) So far done just over half the Story mode sections, not going near the chaos one till I've got through all of them. Dunno which one I'm gonna main atm, as at the moment I seem to play just aswell with all of 'em, which is to say, not very well -.-.

Found myself back on Fallout 3 again. Would never have done it without GamingW. I accidentally stumbled across and holy hell that was the weirdest thing.

Aw, I did that the first time. You just skipped a sizeable chunk of the story :V.

Yeah, apparently so. I went from Megaton to Rivet City to there. So I guess I've skipped loads of the game? What's the best way to deal with this?

I'f your following the main story quest line, it usually lets you know where you need to be.

i prefer referring to that glitch as the hate-chat catalyst

if it happens in a game, hell breaks loose amongst players

though when an entire team does it its kinda chaotic to see

It's not so much that he isn't where he needs to be, it's that he's missed a lot of main story content by exploring and hitting the later objectives by a fluke.

The quests you missed are Three Dog and possibly the uh.. that.. other memorial. Jefferson?

Three Dog is a bitch to find without the main quest pointing you at it, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Explore DC, I guess?
