How long is chapter 11 in final fantasy 13 if I dont do missions

so this is the big open chapter?

here is my opinion on final fantasy 13 (i have been playing it):

It's alot like No More Heroes 2. This is No More Heroes 2 made with a straight face, made by the people who made Advent Children. It's alot like Final Fantasy 10. It pushes you forward and doesn't give you much time to explore the amazing world it promises you that you are living in. It throws alot of pointless made up mythology at you. It's alot like Lost Odyssey. It's really dramatic and the music and dialogue never lets you wonder if an emotion was felt - it forces it on you.

So far, it is worse than all of these three games and only one of these three games was even good.

It's cool that Lightning is the main character, and it's cool that characters like Fang are in it. It's better with women this time. It's just as bad with black people - Sazh is a stereotype. It's got alot of cutesy stuff in it but your problem with that says more about your own problems than the games problems. It doesn't have a good story but you'll get sucked in a little bit if you stick around, that's what these things are all about.

I'm enjoying playing it, but I'll get over that.

@Kayo: Yeah good luck not doing missions, the next Eidolon battle is going to shred you to pieces if you don't do at least a few. Chapter 11 took me about 10 hours or so probably, but that was with 4-5 of grinding (and that was a few too many), so I think a healthy estimate is anywhere between 6-8 hours to get through it with just the necessary grinding.

I actually like this song starting around 1 minute in but I know why it is. It's cos I got sucked into the game. I saw the cutscene where the two characters fall off the building and it looks like they are going to die and I thought 'Oh no!'. I hope you aren't staunch with your arms firmly folded here. This game is a big cheat but I don't think it is even close to the worst thing in games. There are moments and periods in this game where I have liked it and it has gotten to me a little, and I have connected with characters. There have been far more moments when I haven't, but I am looking at the whole thing as positively as I can because I am sucked in. I know it is lame. Don't play it if you can skip it - if I wasn't housesitting a place with a ps3 and this game already there I hopefully would have never touched it - but if you are playing it or want to, I am up for talking about it a bit because it's the only way to stop this game from making me even more stupid.

still playing soul silver in my tiny bit o' free time. i beat the elite four and went to kanto, whee.

too bad i really dont have time to socialize with it because the game isnt as fun without trading and shit. oh well.

Chrono Trigger for the SNES. Good times.

I got to Gran Pulse in FFXIII. It's really good. There still isn't anyone to talk to and it's still that the only thing really to do is fight but there's something else to do too......explore!!! It's huge, there are crazy monsters everywhere and I don't think I have even seen half of it yet. I've pretty much forgotten about the silly story and I am pretending I am wandering around on an alien planet. The design of the areas so far is really cool. There is a central plains kind of area which I walked through about half of, which is pretty cool, but there is this other area which is like a series of valleys which look so cool there are weird, gigantic plants and the music is funny. Also I came across some ruins of an old city.

There really isn't any good reason the whole game wasn't like this. The rest of it is a distant, crumby memory.

fortunately my expectations are remarkably low and i'm in the mood for an rpg at the moment, so as long as it's NOT BLUE DRAGON i will probably be able to play it for a while.

Well, I'm glad your expectations are low at least because you aren't going to get much. I basically put up with the first 20 hours because I had heard about Pulse later on and I don't know whether it's worth it or not but I know I am at least having fun now. The beginning few hours are the worst part in every aspect, they aren't fun and the story is especially bad then. I have only been trying to look for the good in something that has obviously been made with really shitty intentions, and there is some nice stuff in here but I hope I didn't give the impression the game is gonna be a pleasant surprise!

I feel a little bad about saying it isn't close to the worst thing in games now because I was only talking about how the fantasy wish fulfillment stuff this game appeals to isn't as disgusting as the stuff things like call of duty appeal to.

I hope you got it nice and cheap. It is interesting, because there is so little to the game (fight fight fight!), and alot of the stuff they chose not to put in compared with the stuff they stuck with is really strange.
