In Minecraft do trees currently grow on Alpha single player?

Can't get them to sprout no matter what :(.

Cheap as fuck, works with PS3 (wired only though), works with PC without having to find some weirdo drivers or anything, pure plug and play.  Feels just slightly cheaper than a real PS3 controller but for the price it is insanely nice.

Personally after one particularly unhappy experience I stay away from cheap when it comes to PC gamepads.

Yes they grow. But they can take a while. I'm not certain but I think they grow faster if they get more light and are close to water (though the water thing might only apply to wheat) In fact you can grow trees underground if you place enough torches around it... its just takes even longer.

EDIT: I'm still playing Chrome: SpecForce. After a bit of combat I'm actually a lot happier with the game. The weapons seem to deal less damage but are way more accurate. A certain control issue in the first one (not being able to have "toggle" aim mode) has been fixed. Movement is a lot better but still makes me think my character is a drunk. also, the inventory has been expanded a bit to allow for an extra primary weapon. Overall the game seems cleaner and is a step in the right direction.

Also, it seems the developers that made Chrome also made the relatively recent Call of Juarez games and are working on Chrome 2. I might have to give the Call of Juarez games a try.

Yeah they do man, depending on how close they are to a water source it could take upwards of four to five in game days. They also grow into insane shapes :D

call of juarez 1 is good. one of the only linear fps games ive played more than once.

never finished 2, though. just didnt interest me as much.

im going to go plant some more trees. how do i move water now that its finite? i have a bucket but it takes so long to transfer ONE unit of water. should i quit building and build nearer water or is there and easier way?

Other than digging a river towards your settlement thing, not really. When a bucket of water is placed the water spreads for four blocks before stopping, and yeah it takes ages. It might be easy to possibly dig a small 1 x 4 hole and fill that with water, I'm not sure. My current map is right on the coast so I haven't really thought about it.

Waste of Iron, really. Especially when you can build a compass and iron armour or iron tools. One bucket is more than enough.

I just got civilization 5 with a gift card I had for about a year.... Since most of my cash on this pay check goes to my mom (200$) and Dead Rising 2  the one that's only sold on Capcom's home page that runs you about 100 dollars so that's about  300$ out of a 500$ paycheck so I think I would like to keep it like that for this month.

still down loading but the demo got me hooked it plays so well.?I think last true Civ game I had was 3 (not including that cheep and too easy one that was ported to ever system)

how can you say that when you never experienced the furry server? minecraft classic is still around but the furry server is not. those days are long gone.

the best way to move water is to make 3 blocks next each other in an L or wedge shape eg

w-
ww

as long as the water is resting on ground, the fourth block will fill in by itself. so then you can scoop up that block and put it outside the 2x2 square and keep doing that and you've got as much water as you need. all you need to start it is 3 buckets or a few trips

or just use one of the editing programs like invedit or NBT forge I think they were called
