It's funny that you should say that, because just about as soon as I got to the Temple I lost interest.
I agree that the druid guy thing was a nice twist, but when I beat him I was totally not prepared for it and was like "Yeah I'll follow you to the Temple after not resting up. You should be strong enough to help me out for a battle or two" and then got my ass handed to me."
I also think they didn't have to make such an accurate simulation of rolling a twenty sided dice. It would be nice if there wasn't a turn where at least half of my team missed.
Oh totally hehe. It's one of the biggest things that stops my other half from getting into D&D games - he likes like 95% chance of hitting or some shit, and damage appearing over people's heads that isn't single digit. "Like wtf, I did it 9 damage?" "Dude, that's really good!!!".
It really sucks that there aren't more games like Baldur's Gate/ToEE though. Like the ones I can think of:
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2
Temple of Elemental Evil
Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale 2
Planescape: Torment
Eye of the Beholder
I guess maybe you could kind of include the Might and Magic series, but only kind of. I know there are a lot of AD&D games from back in the day like GORGON BIRTHRIGHT or whatever, but weren't they universally shit? Maybe I should play them as an adult or something.
