ToEE is great up until the point when you realise it's only half done. Plus they took out the brothel quests and getting gay-married to that gay pirate (I forget his name).

Still though, you're correct, I bloody LOVED the game when I was playing it. Especially IRONMAN MODE. Basically it went downhill once you actually enter the temple IMO, but otherwise it filled quite a lot of funtimes for me.

Plus getting that weird Druid (the first kind of "boss" you fight) to join your crew was a nice unexpected twist.

It's funny that you should say that, because just about as soon as I got to the Temple I lost interest.
I agree that the druid guy thing was a nice twist, but when I beat him I was totally not prepared for it and was like "Yeah I'll follow you to the Temple after not resting up. You should be strong enough to help me out for a battle or two" and then got my ass handed to me."
I also think they didn't have to make such an accurate simulation of rolling a twenty sided dice. It would be nice if there wasn't a turn where at least half of my team missed.

holy crap, HEY Grunthor!

I'm Still alternating between Morrowind and MW3. Taking me a long time on each game, (MW3 has a lot of guns to unlock/upgrade, Morrowind is a very long RPG)

Portal 2 is so great. I wish I had gotten it when there were still people who haven't played coop but still wanted to. I never got to play the coop. and it seems pointless to play it with someone who knows all the answers...

Oh totally hehe. It's one of the biggest things that stops my other half from getting into D&D games - he likes like 95% chance of hitting or some shit, and damage appearing over people's heads that isn't single digit. "Like wtf, I did it 9 damage?" "Dude, that's really good!!!".

It really sucks that there aren't more games like Baldur's Gate/ToEE though. Like the ones I can think of:

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2
Temple of Elemental Evil
Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale 2
Planescape: Torment
Eye of the Beholder

I guess maybe you could kind of include the Might and Magic series, but only kind of. I know there are a lot of AD&D games from back in the day like GORGON BIRTHRIGHT or whatever, but weren't they universally shit? Maybe I should play them as an adult or something.
Hey hey hey

If you can get the old school SSI Goldbox games to run they can be kind of fun. I've been on my archaic D&D kick lately... for some reason... and I played Champions of Krynn for a while. There's a shitload of grinding required, but the battle system is pretty fun and I kind of like the text based cutscenes because it reminds me of having an actual DM.

upon hearing "heavy footfalls nearby" I entered the command wait and now it's just repeating "Be Quiet, I'm Waiting!" every time enter is pressed.

I am in the very same boat. I could try the random pairing for coop, but if I do play with someone randomly, I would rather it to be with a random person I already got in touch with prior to playing. (now that you mention it, I wouldn't want to try it that way, because there might be a high chance of being paired with someone who has already played it through multiple times)

PM me if you want me to add you to my friends list on steam. I am a quick study when it comes to portal puzzles, but if you do want to go into it blind with a partner who it is also a completely new experience for, I'm probably your best bet.

not bad at all it has it's flaws like the story mode being short/no multiply endings but then it ends any conservancy on what is the cannon ending. But it's everything you expect from a Soul Caliber game also the custom character options have even more customization. So now you can make even more freaky characters. The game play is balanced still (what was the one that was all fucked up from being balanced was it 2 or 3).

But off line mode is a bit lacking but I'm sure your getting to play online or with friends.

nah I don't know anyone who plays this. I didn't really like 4's online mode either. I mostly got it for the character creation, which is a little less powerful than I was hoping and a lot of the clothes look kind of weird, but it's still neat

I actually recently just started up the 14 day trial of EVE online.  Are there any pilots on GW?  I tried it a few years ago and loved it, but didn't really have time for it.  I love the space combat and intense complexity.  But, it's definitely not for the faint of heart of "casual gamers."
