dont listen to this guy, laptops are the best and are definitely useful in university

laptops are basically disposable computers and arent very eco=friendly

if you have a library card you have all the computin' you really need for university(except CS and design students) because aside from research the internet is pretty much a giant distraction from your studies

Other than splurging on portable gaming, any purpose a laptop serves can be accomplished by a usb jump drive with a bootable operating system loaded onto it.

what about sitting casually under a tree in the sun while you type up a paper???  because this is one of college's greatest joys and i do not think a jump drive can do this

i'm typing this in my bed, i never used to be a laptop fan until i got one. it's so ridiculously awesome having your main computer so ridiculously portable, it makes computing a lot more sociable which i guess may not appeal to the average GW heh hehhh

But laptops use less energy than desktops, right? Do you mean in terms of raw materials required for construction?

yeah i didn't really get this, he's obviously not taking into account the new macbooks which are eco-friendly since they're made from trash anyway

you guys just wait until something in your laptop breaks besides the keyboard, ram, cdd or hdd and stuff like that, it's impossible to fix yourself and it'll cost you $500 to get repaired.
