I've noticed that a couple of people I know have started to picked up my "punch a wall/door/phone pole/etc" tendency when they get really angry. Unfortunately, two out of two who tried it recently ended up with fractures in their hands.
What really bothers me is that I just found out this guy I used to be friends with was going around trying to be a big bad ass, and he got his handed to him. Years ago, after he saw one altercation I was in, he asked if I could teach him some stuff. We only had a couple of sessions before he had to move, but apparently he thought his training was complete. He was mistaken.
I'm trying to write a song about it now, but I keep running into riffs from other songs I'm already using with my band, so it has been slow going.
Pick your Battles (Click to reveal)Don’t let your mouth write a check
That your fists can never cash
If your luck runs out one night
Someone like me might knock you on your ass
If you never get up again
It means nothing to them
You have to learn when to stand your ground,
Sometimes the better man stands down
Do as I say, not as I do
And may no harm come to you
Do as I say, not as I’ve done
When you’re under the gun
Do as I say, not as I do
And may no harm come to you
Its easier to think something through
than to regret it once it’s done
