What's on my mind is that when I came back to Gaming World Forums after a 4-year hiatus, all the good forums for discussing game design have gone and all the good people here have been replaced by complete and utter assholes, that's what. I share with everyone my design, and all I get is "DEMO OR GTFO". They don't even tell me if it was any good or not. Thanks for nothing, guys.

you know... (jk) i find windows unintuitive. when i press F12 the screen doesn't refresh. when i press TAB i don't go in edit mode so i can change the name of a file. and when i press X things don't delete.. Not to mention that CNTRL-Q doesn't close a window....

but that is just me blendering too much I guess.

Heh...why doesn't windows work like blender, that's what I'M sayin'!  Right after I say that Blender's only got such a bad UI because they are still working on it.

Blender's UI is pretty genuinely awful btw.  I appreciate what they're trying to do with Blender but jesus I have no clue how people use it.  And, I think it is a little weird that they have had this same UI for years and yet it doesn't seem to be on their list of things they're going to work on.  Or maybe they've just been planning on it yet it's just never been actually released at all.  You really can't demand anything from them because yeah they're volunteers and they don't owe you anything, but damn...it's got one of the worst UIs I've ever seen.

To be honest I've tried using several 3D modelling programs and I've never found one that I really understood how to use (despite reading tutorials and w/e).  The only 3D stuff I've ever understood was OpenGL.  I guess I am better at figuring out where everything should be and what size mathematically and in my head than seeing it on the screen as I'm doing it :/

I think it is actually good. It's just flawed in the respect that you have to learn how to use it. Gutted for those incapable.

Is there any 3D modeling software out there that really is out of the box intuitive?  I'm really curious, I've not seen one that didn't have an at least semi-steep learning curve.
