i don't ever really visualise 2D games i play on a greater scale in my mind at all. terra looks like that in my mind, i don't imagine some blown up anime or real life version of her, really. it's easier to imagine a real life version i guess, cos i just done it almost involuntarily, but i don't do it automatically when i play these games. that isn't to say my imagination doesn't run wild, cos it does, but it runs around in kind of the same visual style as the games. it's not like i am imagining strictly 16 bit characters in my mind, but it's abstract i guess?

yeah, that's how it is with me. I'm not entirely sure this isn't what everybody means without realizing it. if not there may be something interesting to explore here

the terminology was invented by some schizophrenic dude who did mean it that way but everyone else just thought it was a really good metaphor. Same thing with people who say when you pray you're talking with God or whatever

lol reading about synesthesia a while back, for every term relating to color there is someone with a pet theory like what if the first person to call it BLUES meant it literally or on cds where they make the production too 'sweet'. It's already pretty weird subject because a lot of the time it blurs the line between literal and just being really metaphorical. Also these people who literally see time as a curved line or ribbon shape or something but most people would say they imagine a 'timeline' so how literal are the normal people being

as far old 16-bit games I might say they have a better sense of stuff happening beyond the margins of the screen, but I have no idea if that's just childhood imagination doing that. Like you would probably imagine the game world has a lot more than 10 towns/cities in it? And not just 3 houses in each town they're just representative houses or something the houses of note in that town

I don't know though, in the context it's used it seems like they might actually believe it. maybe this was a joke idk. the most recent time I heard it was in 9th grade, when the teacher defined conscience as 'the little voice in your head that tells you what's right and wrong' and there was really no indication it was supposed to be metaphorical. she went on to say that talking to yourself is normal and everyone does it, so I was sitting there thinking I was weird and meanwhile all the schizophrenic kids were patting themselves on the back thinking they're fine

it could have been one of those situations where grown-ups try to dumb things down for kids but end up lying and confusing them instead. I'm glad my parents never did that to me.

sure, maybe some 3D editing software is running and taking up all your resources, but if you go over to your email for a minute and click REALLY HARD on the button to send an email, then it puts the 3D stuff on hold to send your email real quick

Someone called the police to take a lawyer away, he even did the "I'M A LAWYER!!!!!" thing to maybe try to get away? I think they hand cuffed him and locked him inside one of the  police cars but he broke one of the windows, so the cops had to tie him until an ambulance came, then they tied him to a stretcher and took him away. The whole thing was really scary, with him screaming "Then kill me!!! Put the gun on my head and kill me!!!!".
