Good interview with Imogen. Nice read for any inspiring musicians: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/culture/neilmccormick/100002715/imogen-heap-have-piano-will-travel/

Now that I've listened to this album a few dozen times I have to say that Tidal is my favourite followed closely by Bad Body Double. I find it hilarious how Imogen slaps her ass and uses that as a bass line in this song. It's just too awesome! Also, it's cool to note that Earth is 100% vocal - all the layers of the song are her voice. It's a very tribal, african sounding song which is just so pure and unique.

Hey Mateui, what would be a good album to get into Imogen Heap? I mean that in a way of interest, I don't want to physically enter her.

I'd avoid I Megaphone because Imogen was much darker in those days and she sang in much lowers octaves... which I don't really like that much. Very angsty at that moment in time too. (She's much happier now!) I'd probably recommend getting Details by Frou Frou first. Frou Frou was a duo of Imogen Heap producing the vocals and Guy Sigsworth backing and producing  (He's noteworthy for working with the likes of Madonna, Bjork, Britney). An awesome electronic type album. After that, I'd jump to Speak for Yourself and then finally Ellipse, just to see her progression as an artist. Any of the three would be a good bet, but Details introduced me to the world of Ms Heap and I've been a follower ever since. More specifically, it was thanks to Zach Braff using her song Let Go in the Garden State commercial that perked my interest. Thank you Zach Braff!

sometimes, you need to quote yourself to feel important.

What? I hope you're not implying that I'm her. LOL. No, Imogen is very open about her life and she's all about connecting with her fanbase and taking us all through the journey of making her album. She's video blogging on youtube, twiterring constantly, etc. I remember the day when she was so excited that she finally got her drivers license (and at the age of 28)!

Take a look at her album trailer to see some snippets of her last two years working on this:

She's one of the few artists I feel that really pours her soul into her music and does it for the enjoyment of everyone that likes listening to her and not for money or fame. I do wish her bigger success, and I hope she achieves it with this album, but I'll be content as long as she keeps writing music.

This is kind of late notice but Immi will be on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight singing First Train Home for the audience. The show starts in 5 minutes. :)

This sounds a bit much like a weaker version of Speak For Yourself to me. I like some stuff on here a lot and she's made some cool creative decisions but it doesn't have that cohesive bedroom aesthetic that the last album had so I'm not feeling it as much.

I love Imogen Heap, her new album is wonderful but not as good as her previous albums... but it's better than her earliest songs because her earliest songs were SHIT!!
