the creation of the universe is probably the most useless thing to spend significant time considering. even worse is formulating some sort of belief on the matter. that's pretty much the guaranteed way to identify a nincompoop.

in general i feel bad for people who were raised to thoughtlessly answer unanswerable questions and to put a smiley face on intrinsically unknowable concepts. you can love the universe passionately without pretending to know the first thing about it. it's truly alarming how many people never get to this point in their lives.

I don't sit around for DAYS AND DAYS being all "man i wonder how the Universe began" because I believe in God and Christianity and all that lark. But like, if you were to believe that it were all a cosmic accident then your life'd probably reflect that a little. You'd be free from having to worry about a big cosmic kill-joy to ruin your fun while you lived life as you please. However if you believed that there was a God or something then you'd be more inclined to spend your Sunday mornings listening to how sinners are going to hell and how women are the inferior race. (Do not believe for a second this is what I'm all about but I'm just exaggerating to make my point a little clearer.)

i really don't think about shit like that and am more concerned about the struggles going on in my life and figuring out things that actually matter in the world that i live in and not try to cook up some grand scheme about what happened a trillion years ago whether it be some god bullshit or some nerd ranting about some expanding/contracting universe on some singularity that throws logic and human understanding into the wind

you can live a moral or kind or whatever life without any sort of religion, most people are raised to BE GOOD and do it out of having always done it, not out of fear of getting the bad ending to life

just yesterday a little old couple thanked me and my friend a lot for holding open doors for them, like went out of their way to thank us and tell us how much they appreciated it, and that's when i realized how i've always done this for people

When talking about sheer unadulterated control, that subject you so casually glanced over is the 1# culprit out of the things you bothered to mention in that post! Does it really matter what belief system the school imposes on you about the origins of history when all they care about is weaning out the top 5% and training them to spend the rest of their lives taking advantage of the 95% that are put in that lifelong establishment for the sole purpose of being convinced that you are worthless for not being smart and doomed to serve the remainder of your life out at some dead-end job that's probably at a factory making that precious shampoo product that is ever so improved by so called "new science".
