I swear I am gonna beat the next person who whinges about the backwards compatibility to death with a Playstation 2.
Just buy a used one for cheap, plug it into your TV. Why on earth you'd sell your PS3 at a great personal loss (considering the amount you initially paid for it) just to get a new one that has backwards compatibility at a greater price? It is so beyond me why people adopt these community-whinges that they read on kotaku or whatever then proceed to whinge about something they haven't really thought much about themselves.

Actually my laziness extends beyond that.
I have a PS2, I just don't want it to take up more room. I don't want any more than my PS3 and my Wii being hooked up to my tv.
The only games I even play on PS3 are PS1 games (much like the only Wii games I play were bought from the Virtual Console), so it mainly functions as my dvd/blu-ray player. So I don't really care about the other losses, as long as they don't take away blu-ray, which would be absolutely ridiculous. So I'd end up getting a lot more use out of it if I could play Final Fantasy X on it.
