How dare you disrespect god's gift to the PS3 and his next gift would be Ratchet & Clank  fellowed by Demon Souls.

DDay doesn't "get" posts.

Anyways, I played this at a friend's house for about three hours straight. I really enjoyed it, but I felt the controls were a bit weak. I found myself rolling about like a faggot because it was the same button as "snap to cover", and there were a lot of surfaces that just didn't let you snap to them. Other than some loose controls thanks to the same button doing everything, I had a lot of fun. The story moved along at a good pace, although they probably didn't need that many cutscenes. There was a bit of repetition in terms of what you were doing that I assume only get worse as you go along, but whatever, it's still a good game. I didn't get a chance to try the multiplayer, unfortunately. I'd suggest anyone who plays this tries to be stealthy once and awhile, since pulling a guy over a railing to his death is a totally awesome experience.

I didn't really find this game to be anything like Assassin's Creed, to be honest. The free-running stuff was more puzzle oriented, with the idea being more on finding the right way to go rather than dexterity. Anyways, it's a good game, I liked it a lot, I recommend it.

Yo I'm gonna sorta necropost here but holy shit this was probably the best game I have played in years. I mean, I finished the first one a week ago and thought it would be pretty difficult to top it, but jesus christ. I don't think I've ever played a game with such amazing production values. I thought the first one looked better than most recent games, but this one completely blew it out of the water.

I dunno I'll probably look back at this later and be like "eh" but yeah wow, I don't think I've enjoyed a game this much in the past 3-4 years.

Are there any good reasons to not like this game? I don't have a ps3 so I don't really care, but my douchebag friend has been toting for the last week that this game is going to revolutionize console gaming by forcing developers to double the work they put in and blah blah, I'm just looking for a couple reasons this game may not be so great to throw in his face.

uh well, if you want to find reasons to not like it, i suppose some people could dislike it because:

- it's linear as fuck, although it kind of has to be for the story and narrative to work so well.
- AI can be a bit dumb sometimes, enemies don't necessarily notice you very easily even though they should see you and they don't pay attention to sounds or dead bodies, basically uncharted 2 could have learned a bit from metal gear solid when it comes to this.

that's pretty much everything i can come up with actually. i can't see anyone who even remotely likes games actually disliking uncharted 2. it is one of the greatest games i have played and i agree with your friend that i'm sure many other developers are going to learn from it when it comes to pacing, narrative and blurring the line between games and movies.

oh yeah might as well add that even though the multiplayer is fucking awesome, it's too streamlined. what i mean is that you don't get complete freedom over what gamemodes and their variations (snipers only, rpg's only etc.) you get to play and there is no public servers list. if you team up with your friends in the lobby, the game will always automatically put you in the same team so it's a bit annoying if you don't have a lot of friends to play with and you want to actually play against them because you can't with uncharted 2's matchmaking system and lack of server list. you have to create your own game so that you can decide the teams yourself but that only works if you have enough players because the maps are pretty large. as for the gamemodes, if you want to play ranked matches you don't get to choose what gamemode you will play, the game will always randomize two maps for you and each of them will have randomized gamemode as well and the players will vote for the one they want to play, that's all the freedom you'll have when it comes to ranked matches. the game gives you a few different choices (deathmatch only, team-based matches only, ranked matches, co-op, co-op arena...) but i definitely wish they'd add a server list and give players more freedom to choose what they want to play. the upside is that at least there is variety in both maps and gamemodes when you play ranked matches so you won't get bored that easily.

I actually enjoyed Uncharted 1 more then 2. Sure, 2 has far more impressive graphics, but I loved the story and atmosphere of the first far more. Being on a mysterious island looking for a mysterious treasure was far more captivating than the Chintimani Stone. All we know about it from 2 is it's valuable, and here's how to get it, and this guy is trying to get there before us.

Also, thought the MP adds a lot of spice to Uncharted 2 (since the first had none to begin with), I didn't like how the Horde Mode had JUST 10 waves (or ROUNDS). I'm a big fan of Gears of War 2, and Horde there was the greatest MP I've ever played, and really hoped Uncharted 2 would match that level of intensity.
