i have never heqard of those two?!? also i checked that Mariah Carey video yeaster posted and yeah that was actually technically impressive but i think lot of us don't care about it that much since the material and interpretation/expression is not good at all.

don't ask for good women singers, i don't know many at all!!! like ugh i guess this is sort of inevitable but for example JEFF BUCKLEY is a whole lot better than the most of the mentioned good pop-singers (Whitney, Mariah, Christina, Celine, Jennifer Hudson, etc.) because not only he is technically ridicilously good but more importantly (!), he is really good at conveying emotions/good power of expression and fantastic interpretation of material. also man i don't really know if bob dylan is that bad, like technically and conveying emotions he is not very good but there's qualities i can't point out that makes him cool (and it's not MUTTERS WORDS). blah blah blah well yeah redeeming qualities doesn't make a good singer

But since you brought up conveying emotion---I definitely agree that that is far more important than having technically amazing vocals. Some singers have incredibly thin vocals but are still great at getting their point across in a song, almost as if they had wrote it themselves (like Kylie, to name just one example).

Mariah's gotten much better at conveying emotion through the years imo, especially during the Daydream and Butterfly eras. I'm not really a fan of big-voiced singers, but I've always had a soft spot for Carey.

Mariahs album cover is very VERY photoshopped, Blimpiah Carby is not that thin and hasn't been in a long time

PS Obsessed is a FLOP, number 7 on the charts and it's a lead single?? FLOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she even remixed it so it could play on rap stations and get extra spins, even all american rejects lead single got number 1, FLOP YOU BETTER QUIT TRYING BLIMPIAH!!!
