aaaa triple post but seriously what is wrong with people

how the fuck does splitting a game across discs cause them to be unable to backtrack or explore open worlds, do these people think that once the data for a map in the game is put on a disc it is deleted from everywhere else and can't be put on another disc too????  how did these people think the other final fantasy games worked, magic?  i was hoping that the link to that review would finally make me stop being so disgusted by this whole thing but the comments just made it all worse

rajew, the entire idea of rpgs is that they substitute skill for strategy. i'm not defending them or anything, they're all bad, but you're entirely wrong and i even think you know it.

None. RPGs replace the need for skill with the need for the ability to internalize numbers that represent life and characteristics and all sorts of shit. Instead of acting quickly and using skills, you're forced to determine how best you can manipulate the numbers. This is strategy. Most games do it pretty badly (the ones Rajew cited), but some are good. The SMT series is a good example of games that do it right. Breath of Fire 5, Wizardry, Romancing Saga, uh, probably a million more. I don't feel like listing games that are well-balanced and difficult.

yes. elder scrolls series, fallout 3, fable(or is fable an action game i think it is) SOME planescape torment, neverwinter nights
there are probably more on this list but thinking is for losers
also what is legend of lagaia why are there so many strange names. games with madeup words in their titles kind of always put me off
who really wants to play CHRONICLES OF IXACULON THE CRYSTAL FORGURANT OF IRE

i was talking to jr

Well i've played warcraft 3 (thats more of a strategy game) and elders scrolls.

I'm thinking of buying fallout 3 though I will try to get into them since I hear they are alot better then most jrpg's.

My favourite final fantasy is Cronno trigger limited edition that comes in a matte-finish collector's tin with authentic ``Time Necklace``

You kinda got a point most Jrpg's fall under this category.

but a few ones like Baten Kaitos and Final Fantasy Tactics don't....oh yeah and the Persona series and digital devil saga or pretty much every Shin Megami Tensei Game.

Also I don't get how people think Chrono Trigger is the best JRPG...sure it has a simple and fun battle system and great character design(keep in mind I'm a DBZ fan) but everything else about it is pretty average.

Oh good god, don't you dare say Final Fantasy Tactics requires strategy. It doesn't.

 Tactics 1:
*casts best spells & quickens and casts best spells again*

 Tactics 2:
*hits enemy a few times and then casts best spells when mp is charged (or just use an ether)

AND THEY FUCKING REMOVED THE MULITPLAYER IN A2 THE LAZY PRICKS
How about no!? You are an idiotic version of a baboon.

If you don't exploit it it kinda does.
It's pretty easy for a strategy game though.
And how about that 1 on 1 fight with wiergraph.

well the wiegraf fight was really easy if you came prepared. if you were say a lancer you could just jump at him a few times, a wizard however had to hide in the corner and cast spells whenever he could. monks also just ran up and punched a few times. As long as you avoided his summon it was a pretty easy fight (of course equipping rubber boots or whatever to lessen his lightning stab was almost necessary)
also i think immakinganaccountk is referring to the final fantasy tactics advanced series not the original
don't mind me, just postin' after a few brewskies
somebody’s Barkley --- could be another’s Monopolo.

But I found tactics advance a lot harder.
And I'm up to the Wiergraf battle right now just died the first time.

I'm trying as a Squire got any strategy suggestions?

I would but I don't want to change ramza's class from a squire.
I might try the tailwind/focus trick if all else fails.

Also does anyone know how to unlock the Dragoon job or any other useful ones because the job tree on GameFAQs is useless and makes no sense, even with my awesome knowledge of awesomeness.

Yes youve got to unlock the secret job which is the chef job then you hafta make the recipe dragon cookies and sell them to kain from final fantasy 4 after that he joins you party but is only lvl1 and dies in one hit you hafta fight 200 battles with him and protect him from dieing after he thanks you and teaches you the way of the dragoon.
