...where suburban upper middle class Americans also fly planes into buildings in the name of their shiny golden god (money)

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_plane_crash_texas

Quote
AUSTIN, Texas – A software engineer furious with the Internal Revenue Service plowed his small plane into an office building housing nearly 200 federal tax employees on Thursday, officials said, setting off a raging fire that sent workers fleeing as thick plumes of black smoke poured into the air.
A U.S. law official identified the pilot as Joseph Stack and said investigators were looking at an anti-government message on the Web linked to him. The Web site outlines problems with the IRS and says violence "is the only answer."

Federal law enforcement officials have said they were investigating whether the pilot, who is presumed to have died in the crash, slammed into the Austin building on purpose in an effort to blow up IRS offices. All the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

"Violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer," the long note on Stack's Web site reads, citing past problems with the tax-collecting agency.

"I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well," the note, dated Thursday, reads.
At least one person who worked in the building was unaccounted for and two people were hospitalized, said Austin Fire Department Division Chief Dawn Clopton. She did not have any information about the pilot. About 190 IRS employees work in the building, and IRS spokesman Richard C. Sanford the agency is trying to account for all of its workers.

After the low-flying plane crashed into the building, flames shot out, windows exploded and workers scrambled to safety. Thick smoke billowed out of the second and third stories hours later as fire crews battled the blaze.

"It felt like a bomb blew off," said Peggy Walker, an IRS revenue officer who was sitting at her desk in the building when the plane crashed. "The ceiling caved in and windows blew in. We got up and ran."

Funny/Ironic stuff from the article:

A)  Before hopping into the plane for his fiery death flight, this guy sets fire to his home.  Minutes later two people who apparently cannot tell their house from every other house on the street drive back from wherever it is rich white folk go during the day only to be convinced that their own house is on fire.

B)  A flight instructor having a meal across the street from the building is one of the first to see the angry plume of explosm emit from the building as the plane struck.

C)  Death and taxes.

D)  The guy could have probably exacted far more efficient revenge had he did simply stuck with tradition and shot up the building.  It's the American way.
For every moment of triumph, for every instance of beauty, many souls must be trampled.

idk he seemed more angry about stuff like bailing out corrupt executives and the government pandering to rich people. there's a lot of stuff about "the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for their mistakes" and the last bit unfavorably compares the "capitalist creed" to the communist one so that doesnt sound hugely libertarian to me. maybe im misreading it though because he could apparantly afford his own plane. in any case it sounds like it started when he got busted for trying some tax scam under the guise of making a statement about reform or something so.

You people this guy is a martyr. I’m tired of hearing how we are peaceful movement, this is BS. This country was founded on violence. You wouldn’t be here right now chattering your fat useless jaws if our traiterous forefathers didn’t pick up a gun and fight the oppressors. We won our freedom by fighting with violence. And all you patsies can talk about is more conspiracies and sitting on your asses acting better than a real patriot. By far I might have too much to lose yet to fight like a real patriot. But I can see that this man was a patriot. He was backed into a corner, and he came out with fist a swinging. Between flight and fight he chose the later, crazy or not our government got its first lesson of equilibrium (that a force will eventually be checked). Rest in peace brother, amen.

And for the rest all you can do is talk talk talk, disown disown. Maybe all you people are the government operatives, acting like wusses. This guy is Joe American, not some government operative. He stated what we all feel about the IRS and took action. The IRS violated his fifth amendment right this is something he was willing to give his life for to show them he could punish them. Also I’ve had to hear (other websites) about how there are nice people working at the IRS, give me a break they are enforcing a tyrants will violating our Bill of Rights. They are like German soldiers who have immunity to kill someone because a superior told them. Justice wasn’t nearly served in my opinion. But I suppose Alex is going to save you by making all American’s aware of the conspiracy. What a joke! You all might be smart on the fact of conflict coming and an abusive government, but you have no balls to stand up against it. The first by using your right to free speech. And sometimes your lack of trust makes you too conspiratorial that you can’t even see liberty at the doorstep. This guy is a hero, live free or die? He just watered the tree of liberty while you drones act like nerd dopes, talking about black helicopters and whine, whine, whine. Geez I hope you all either shut up or grow some gonads. You know what i think, I think you’re afraid that the government is going to find out who you are behind your alias and brand you a terrorist if you come out and support this guy. You’re all pathetic. PATHETIC! You know what I’m going to go take a s---, and I’m not going to worry about some government operative either from the IRS or otherwise because they really are termites. Once you realize that the more you can tell them to their face “serves you right termites”, the more they will respect you. EOS! Want to be free, start acting like it.

Rand died of heart failure on March 6, 1982 at her home in New York City, and was interred in the Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York. Rand's funeral was attended by some of her prominent followers, including Alan Greenspan. A six-foot floral arrangement in the shape of a dollar sign was placed near her casket.

maybe i'm missing something, but his suicide note didn't exactly sound batshit insane. not on the scale you might expect from something like this, anyway. i mean obviously runnin' round killing people isn't the best thing ever, but the guy seems more like a symptom of the mysterious power of corporatism to kick dissenters in the teeth.

either way, i guess this adds a lot more political weight to cass sunstein's idea about infiltrating conspiracy theorists and trying to undermine their theories from the inside to prevent them from acting out violently.

fuck you, innocent people are dead.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Why? People are dead, public property has been destroyed which will have to be rebuilt using public money, and he has damaged his cause in the eyes of everyone. It seems to me like its really tragic and antisocial act by a confused and isolated individual

we need a mass extinction level event

From what I can tell, this has become a more and more common sentiment lately. As long as it's big enough to kill the economy, then I reckon the portion of us still left would be much better off for it. (even if it's 0.0000000%)

You know what would be ironic as hell? If it actually did happen, but the only portion of the population that dies out is the one exclusive to people who think society would be better off with a mass extinction type event.

It's okay if you have some serious problem with the casual sentiment being provided in such dire circumstances.

But you really think the most appropriate manner to express those feelings is by setting yourself up in the most obvious way possible? (You really chose the word "innocent"? Really?)
