The computer, TV and drugs ruined my life.

Now I'm depersonalized, desrealized (these are actual deseases)

Only transcendental meditation and reading (nothing like real paper instead of screen) are helping me throught

I'm fat

Physical exercise is also mandatory

I hope I helped

Would you please then try and explain in a rational manner why do you think they are dumb topics? Or is it happening that my topics are completely rational an you're not capable of telling why they're dumb, since they are not and you are merely irritated because the subjects of the topic do not interest you and you think people should not talk about this stuff?

Maybe I should talk about megaman or RPG Maker isntead?

we have standards to uphold. what would wishmoo think if they saw this?

your life isn't ruined bud. none of that stuff is permanent unless you have actual irreversible damage from drug use, and even that doesn't end your life. as a lot of people here already know, a few years ago I had late stage lyme disease which caused some damage to my brain and gave me a pretty severe depression. for years I felt like such a stupid fucking idiot limited by my own brain and I thought there was no way I'd ever get better, let alone return to normal. I'm still not there yet but I'm better now and I don't even think about that shit anymore. you'll change in time, try to head in a good direction

edit: who censored that which shall not be named I feel like I'm in 2003

Thanks you're like an enlightned buddha. My intention with the topic was to express these feelings and also alert others. I do not think I have no salvation. As you said, I'm trying to head to a personal direction. I hope you are 100% all right from your brain damage. Never stop physical exercise. I also recommend meditation. I think you're a cool intelligent guy. Sorry for never sending more songs to you for the game!  :fogetshifty:

I never had brain desease, but I'm 100% sure that, besides add, i suffer from disrealization/dispersonalization. I used to feel normal as a kid, but suddenly some strange feeling of being "in a dream", or drugged or something, started to show up when I was at crowded or places with a lot of noise, like arcade games places, birthday parties. One day it happened on christmas party, and I didn't like it. It's disrealization (look it up). Now I feel like that 24h. Anyway, I'm trying to study, I have a 4h a day job. Things are getting better, and I've lowered on the drinks.

You made one topic asking people where they're from that got no serious replies, then you made a topic saying you quit porn (go you?) and now you're telling us you're unhealthy. Okay, this one actually got a serious reply: good job

People here tend to spend a lot of time in front of their computers, and I've certainly heard of people having had physical problems or discomfort as a result, but the question is always what really is to blame. I don't think computers are a cause so much as a catalyst at best, or a symptom more likely. You might have had a bad break at school or financially and simply turned to the computer/tv/drugs as a fallback.

If anything, having a job is probably the best way to get back into a healthy rhythm since it forces you to be clean, decent and on time. I know when I dropped out of college I had a pretty rough time until I got a job working at a graphic design studio.

Spending too much time in front of any screen is a very unhealthy act, the consequences can be as bad as drugs sometimes. I've had some physical problems too (back, etc.). What is to blame is I was always a fucked up kid (paranoid, schizoid, introverted). It's complicated, but this thread was more of a positive one: I'm trying to change, like Siddharta.

except siddharta's change was from emaciating himself

there aren't any links between screen use and retinal deterioration or anything, the only health concern is that you're generally sitting for hours on end.

also if you're a generally annoying person there's probably health benefits from secluding yourself from those who hurt annoying people

haha I'm pretty bad with computer but I alternate between super unhealthy/sedentary stuff like that and hey I think I'll walk across half the state today. And I barely watch any TV any more not that I think it's dumb or anything it's just so PASSIVE to me now I get more kicks out of searching to see if there are any websites that feature people's wiener dogs cosplaying as anime characters than lol sitcom

I look for anything to avoid taking responsibility for the manner in which I conduct my life.

Of course unhealthy computer use would fall into that category. That's exactly why I'm making this post right now.

*Grumble* FAB, you're right but only to a point. too much of ANYTHING can be bad for you. Computer time needs to be balanced with outdoors, virtual with real life, fantasy with (ugh) reality. None of these things are bad or evil in and of them selves- it's the imbalance that
s the problem. And yeah, trying to get  a job or gong to classes would help, methinks- also social groups so you get more practice being around people.
Everyone has the right to be himself; wise men know how to,when, and whether to navigate the boundary between their rights and those of others when they collide.
