hey there bro, don't judge~
and what do you mean "she's still like 16"? i don't think that's related to anything you're saying...
also, the main character is definitely not meant to glorify messed-up Japanese dudes. you should watch the show ("Welcome to the NHK"); it's really funny yet meaningful.
the story is about that guy, Satou-- at the beginning of the show, he just plays erotic games and looks at photos of little girls. he's a hikikkomori-- that's the term in Japan for a shut-in with severe social phobia, paranoia, etc... it's generally considered a culturally-specific psychological disorder. Satou is a pretty realistic depiction of the many people in Japan who have this mindset.
anyways, eventually this girl Misaki comes into his life, and she wants to use him as a subject for a psychological case study, where she is attempting to turn him into a normal member of society. she encourages him to gradually take steps to get over his agoraphobia and social ineptitude. the show is not justifying lolicon at all. the whole point of it is to encourage people who are similar to this main character to take the steps to become a normal, happy person, and to overcome their "sickness" of being a shut-in.
don't assume that all anime are perverted, unrealistic, fanservice shows... personally, i generally don't like shows like that. i almost exclusively watch the "seinen" genre, which is characterized by deep underlying themes, complex plot-lines, and well-developed characters. i like to say that seinen series have "literary merit", because a lot of them are things that i think would become instant classics if they were a novel (example: MONSTER by Naoki Urasawa).
so yeah, "Welcome to the NHK" is good.
