I was too busy listening to Japanese singing to be annoyed. Yeah, I can be ironic and  all that, but when it comes to  social issues I'm dead serious.  Living  (And hopefully loving) in the DC metro area as a gay, Jewish Democrat with ADHD will do that to one.

Sarcasm comes over very badly without emoticons.
And as for my avatar . .  . "Watashi Tigaa-su ai!"

also america is a fascist police state. it fucking sickens me. it's literally a horrible country that is fucking doomed. There's going to be a violent revolution or we'll just kind of disappear. capitalism is for idiots, thugs and greedy psychopaths.

I'm in the process of going through my crap and selling most of my not in use worldly possessions, so I can spend some time travelling, also looking up a course in the US (Boston, Chicago or New York) so I can go around the world helping people learn english, but thats in a year's time. Though if my friend bails out on that (I doubt she will, but we're pretty spontanious interms of what we do) then I'll have enough money to do an Art History masters, which is like my total backup plan.

Also lately I've become really disinterested in politics the past two months or so, it's just repeating itself and shit's only getting worse. England's got a total fascist government that're trying their best to remove workers' rights as well as anything else good in the country. I guess at least Scotland will be independent within the next ten or so years, which is nice.

THE mac-and-cheese thing is silly. The Alzheimer's thing concerns me.

his comment lacked tact and was probably the dumbest thing he could have possibly said(you can see him realize it as soon as the words came out of his mouth and they both started squirming in their chairs). but when you watch the interviewer clap her hands and call Rice sister after she said "mac n cheese" for thanksgiving i kinda was thinking the same thing. There are a lot of "black things" in the US so it seems like an innocent question cuz it's not a universal thanksgiving dish but there's no good way to ask that question and the way he did is hilarious.

also the US and the UK are not fascist guys, i'm not a fan of either but "fascim" hyperbole is so bogus

It's not straight up fascism but it's definitely a soft fascism, we have a very thin illusion of freedom that is obviously being tested with all the OWS stuff, and sadly it's becoming clear that nobody actually cares about the protestors, all the media almost completely ignores it, and nobody even understands what the problems really are or where they come from. All the presidential candidates/options are just straight up jokes, even Obama is mostly paid for and his administration (like every administration I guess) staffed by CEOs who run the country like a business, and nobody really gives a shit about congressional elections, I mean all voter turnout rates are abysmally low but the truly important elections are the lowest of all. AGHH I just hate politics so much because it all just makes me angry. It's like "everyone else is stupid" but seriously, how are so many people so stupid? You think you've seen the stupidest thing ever, and almost weekly everyone sees someone that just is incomprehensibly stupid and it really makes you wonder how the fuck humans made it this far.

those ows horror stories are nuthin. over here when they had the g20 (or was it g8? who cares...) protest in toronto the cops were straight up just snatchin people off the streets and locking them in dungeons basically. didn't matter if you were rioting or not (most people weren't, and those that were were likely agent provocateurs anyway) as some people just lived or worked in the area the protests were in and were trying to get home but were arrested for basically walking down the street. the cops turned some underground parking garage into a makeshift dungeon and literally threw people into cages and refused to give them food/water or let them use the bathroom. several people were forced to defecate themselves and everyone else was forced to sit there smelling piss and shit all day until they passed out from dehydration or whatever. and that's fuckin canada, man. i can't even imagine what american cops must be like. oh no wait yes i can. if those ows protests get any more intense it's going to get pretty crazy. just today i read a story about a cop pepperspraying a pregnant woman and she then had a miscarriage as a result. cop basically murdered a baby and then probably high fived his bro, went home, fucked his wife, and watched the game. fuck everything and everyone.
idk my sister told me about the miscarriage thing and according to her there's a pretty big chance the woman made the story up bc there's no evidence of miscarriage/ever being a baby in the first place. still a good example of how everything about this is awful. and I'm not sure canada is necessarily any better off. have you seen retail rage

Not sure if Chef already saw this (or what his name is on GW or if he even posts here any more) but since he played Dota with us for a bit I figured he might get a kick out of this.

I have to admit I didn't actually watch the video :( I just linked it because the headline in and of itself was amazing enough.

Yeah, there are definitely some of the same elements in play, but it's not a proportionate term. Same with the term "police state". When children are encouraged to turn in their parents to the authorities and they get summarily executed, then we can talk. Or when opposition leaders get kidnapped and tortured by the leading party's secret police.

yeah the woman is one of the crazier folks around the OS camp but who knows! Whether or not she was pregnant is completely beside the point WRT the brutality regularly coming out of the seattle PD but this woman has been subject to a lot of nastiness around the issue from media outlets and people who want to portray her as a bad person(either she was pregnant and a bad mom for being at a protest, or she's a dirty liar) effectively shifting the topic of discussion away from police brutality.
