i dunno if computation is crude so much as software is. since brains compute, the entirety of human activity could be considered a computation of sorts, but only in the strictest technical sense. it's definintely true that having the computer hide the rules makes a big difference - it helps create the illusion of a space or world that can be explored instead of just known from the beginning like a chess board. but there's other games with secret rules too, like pen and paper role playing games. the game world is inside the GM's head and the players can explore it by asking questions. but the GM isn't a programmable computer so it's not a computational game in the sense of my definition. i guess the word should be software game rather than computational game because the GM still computes but by using a mystery process from inside his or her heart. the difference between this kind of secret-text game and a game that relies on software is that the software cannot possibly have a lifetime of human experience stored inside it. additionally, a choose-your-own-adventure book initially contains a secret structure that stays hidden but because it doesn't compute like a brain or a serial electric computer does, it can't generate new content and runs out of world fast / the revolving pages taped to an internal mechanism of obvious construction make themselves painfully apparent. things fall apart with software games, too, but because of their increased complexity, all kinds of wonderful glitches result. video games often produce a seemingly credible universe, which i guess is what's interesting about watching it fall apart or seeing the mechanisms exposed. so i guess in that sense there's a class of hidden-rule games that aren't software games, and these games feel different because of the presence of structured mechanism in software games.

apparently some of the mexicans in the galley are gay and they keep checking me out and my friend kojack keeps fucking with me. I was tryin to get something out of the fridgerator and I guess one of them was staring at my ass and he started yellin at em "YOU LIKE THAT HUH AHAHAHAHAHAH?!?!?!?" and when I turned around the dude was nodding with a big fucking grin on his face.

like I ain't got no problem with it and am kind of flattered but I will totally knock the fuck out of anyone that gets grabby out of principle alone and not homophobia. And I'm pretty sure I was talking to one of them on a bench in spanish and I think he was an oiler or rigger and he either asked me if I was gay (the word is "cancal" or somethin like that I'm not sure how its spelled or asked me if I was in a "thruster". I didn't want to say yes or know so I just kind of walked off...

That sounds pretty harsh, let me clarify. They know I'm not gay I don't look gay and I don't act gay they just think I'm attractive I guess. I got a thing about people touching me I don't know especially men that want to bone me so if anyone could understand being in such a pridicament my reaction wouldn't be uncalled for. I honestly prolly wouldn't go that far unless I felt I had to though.

lol yeah I don't really do that. The worst I've been is pretty jaded and generalize too much but I'm gettin better.
