it is said each game of his seven of the "fortress" dark and consumer work six different models of PC...

...full color PDF manual...

...one 14-minute video that will play full PC version was the shortest answer the mystery has been incorporated into the CD-ROM. so it is said by the men who work the docks at night on the lip of dusk on the lakeshore beneath the tarlike sky before the gaze of the tower of the wizard of the most unholy mysteries and passions of the supplicants of the great apocalyptic sigil of the burning sky behind the sky behind the sky...

...fingerstyle guitar and a Famicom starfield... roving cactus foe...

backyard adventures...

four-color gallows...

press start and never look back again...

it's amazing how powerfully a single image can induce this yearning sensation, this unsolvable mystery. it's one of the most real and heartfelt things the internet can make us feel, in my opinion - an idea transplanted from a world completely unlike your own, source unknown, meaning unfathomable, a permanent monolith to awe-inspiring beauty, fear, disgust, nostalgia trapped and made manifest through nothing more than a series of numbers defining colors on a grid of lights. it's funny that while the world seems smaller in many ways because of globalization and increasing access to information, the easy exposure to alien mindsets and cultures makes one feel more tiny and lost and alone than ever before. duhhhhhh maybe this is all completely nonsensical

XARGON: you are "Malvineous Havershim" and you're lost in a strange world!! defeat an evil emperor and get back home!! jump in water to somehow manifest a submersible around your body that vanishes when you get out!! the soundtrack has some of most strange and organic FM stuff I've ever heard in games

STIXWORLD was another game I had access to, with a vague sense of nonlinearity that blew my mind. I could barely get anywhere in it, but it felt massive. playing it now it's really nothing impressive but it has a unique art style for 1998 and used a physics system without typical sprites

i found this while i was looking for more information about the game

I had XARGON on a Epic Megagames compilation CD but it wouldn't load past that spectacular chapter select screen. the gameplay doesn't look anything like the colorful world I imagined. vaguely Rambo, wood texture HUD taken directly from God of Thunder

Either on that Epic Megagames CD, or maybe Best 3D games of 95, there was a game called Dare to Dream which is also part of my being. amazing urban fantasy from the suburban age as part of a surreal dreamscape. the transition fro urban to even more bizarre rural is extremely effective and kind of ahead of its time

sorry the filenames are from some let's player

ahaha i remember that Xargon screen as well, i don't think i could load past the screen as well i think! (or didn't dare!!) man, i wish my dos-compilation cd's would still work, those were GOLDMINES of bizarre old dos-games. DOMINATOR 95
EDIT like damn it seriously looks like (chapter select) like it's going to be hella gorey/grotesque wolfenstein clone made to fuck your mind (as a kid, i really didn't like ANY of those bizarre, hostile dos games)

re: Xargon: I never got to the part depicted in the glum screenshots when I was little. the first episode is actually really colorful and pretty, with some lovely tiles. (it is a pretty clunky game though)

there's also a part early on in an enchanted forest - the game up until this point has been bright and pretty cheery, apart from the weird-ass enemies. then you go into these twisting dark woods and all of a sudden the background is completely black. huge trolls slowly stomp left and right firing lasers out of their eyes. the trees look like something that grew in a swamp, off-white and covered in vines, with fat branches that taper to upturned points. at one point in my life I had forgotten the name of the game and any details about it except for this single level. in my faulty recollection, the trolls were as tall as the screen...

also dare to dream looks AMAZING, especially that alligator, ahahaha

also gotta love the meaningless family-friendly video game graffiti

> ONE 66!
           YO!

reminds me of that concept art for FFVII that had a picture of a Shinra facade with the word "Fuck" spraypainted across it in enormous letters, not covering anything up, just adjacent to the company's name. in game it got censored to "Pyck"

That's a cool idea, as long as it only got the stuff from this forum and people couldn't just post directly to the Tumblr because that would kill this topic and it's the best we got atm.

Link it back to the forums and then we have a temp mainsite. Ta-da

I'd add a filter so that only posts from certain people come through so that people ogling WOA THATS A COOL IMAGE don't get included. and I mean only this topic.

I think it'd be cool if that tumblr site was the "frontpage" for salt world.

On the new forum, maybe you could add a button on posts/topics that certain users could see and could submit a thread/post to the tumblr as well?
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?
