Japanese MML X68k chiptune site.

This is nuts. These are actual MML files. I didn't even know it was possible to make them anymore. How are they making these???? I have to find out . . .!!

So the Japanese chiptune scene seems to be about recreating their favorite songs whereas the Western one is about making new songs. Go to the second page on that site and listen to the Star Cruiser song by the way. It is my favorite song from any game but it sounds so similar to the X68k version. I'll rip it next time I get on my other computer so you can compare them but man, why do they do that???? Why do they remake songs to sound exactly the same????

This is so similar to Tandy beeper coding except it's even simpler and includes frequency modulation values. I'm gonna learn this. I'm going to be the only person in the West who can do this.

this is the best website ever

I knew a guy in high school who would read stuff like this. the hip relaxed new christians who just want to talk real casual about God and prayer. don't you think it's kind of strangely painful

Aaaaaaaaaaa, Grady Sain animated the evil flying blob in the Foo Fighters video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_rTTsZZ9KE
This video depicts Dave Grohl and the F.F. making their final stand on the edge of Blob County

And then when he worked with "Tim" and "Eric" he helped bring Grum into the world http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOGF5SrO_mw

Grady Sain's website is down so this thread is the first thing he'll see when he googles himself

people always say how creative/imaginative that Journey to the Moon movie or whatever it's called is (the really really old movie like first movie ever or some shit) but nobody ever mentions how that moonface is creepy as shit

i always appreciated george melies films for the fact they were horrifying. he was pretty innovative though- crazy magician guy who liked working with special effects. always did weird films centered on mysticism (a lot of devil/magick stuff actually) and used that to do weird ideas for effects. i thought that horrifying occult weirdness is part of what made his films appealing. stuff like the moonface though always seemed more like some attempt to grasp the technology at the time and make something of it through a story. if "Minnie the Moocher" was the smurfs 3d of the 1930s then "Journey to the Moon" was the same but about 25 years earlier. a sort of pioneer in disturbing film technology.
