I'm not cool enough to relate to any of these at all.
Don't know that this stuff is supposed to be "related to". The kind of stuff you find here is weird and cool, a lot of times because it is alien and removed from media and culture as we normally encounter it. Sometimes it's just because some fragment of a thing we would otherwise take for granted has its weirdness magnified by being shown in a vacuum from its context. Maybe it's something from another time or culture that, from our outsider perspective, appears especially absurd. In all those cases, the experience is inherently alienating, it's just that the alienation isn't mutually exclusive from finding it cool. In fact, sometimes the weirdness is what makes it compelling.
Sometimes it's just neat junk here though. Not like everything that's cool has to fly in the face of common conventions.
