haha what a beautiful dream home (HOME DREAM actually)

love the midi strings (all midi strings are great really)

reminds me of Theme Park for playstation where you could explore the park in 3D and it felt all weird and hopeless but this is slightly more comforting

I can translate a bunch of the subtitles cool but just a lot of boring stuff like 'now that we have seen all of the second floor let's go to the third floor'

would be cool to make a demake of the sims or something that looked like this (in Wings3D I guess)

japanese are really good at depicting homes/bathrooms as these little pocket dimensions with no relation to the outside world

I'm still pissed mother 3 for n64 got cancelled. To me clunky N64 graphics + Earthbound = match made in heaven

had a dream about a game that I think had the same dudes from Trio the Punch (besides the ninja) and they were in a warehouse that was probably modeled after my garage. Something to do with bootleg thai noodles and then the police? comes and starts shooting at us in a really NES 8-bit looking way. Because it's a vidcon you can still dodge the bullets and land a punch every now and then. Some other guy is there now but he gets shot up. I dunno somehow the cops are actually bad guys trying to kill us to cover something up, then some black guy who is also an alien ?? who is going to disguise themself as the president (some horrible idea/irony in there somewhere, supposed to be old NES game where notion of a black president was unheard of I guess? Also irony that now that we actually do have a black president people on youtube are like oh he must actually be an alien shapeshifter lol) and then something happens with that, I guess we kick their asses. I think they're still 8-bit shooting at us but somehow it's easier now to dodge the bullets and stuff. Then stage 2 which is just kind of generic street level like double dragon stage 1, strange rothkian colors everywhere though. Forgot after that. There were also strange stage transitions that looked like some black void data screen and apologizing for not having extra characters in the arcade version.

Then I had a false wake-up dream where I was checking out some videogame magazine which changed into a tablet which changed into an HDTV but it had some kind of media of a Toad RPG where it was in some middle eastern world (because toad has a turban almost ok, only japanese could get away with this) and it was like Dragon Quest 7 (not 8) but with millions of toads on screen and other cool graphic stuff going on, and it was honestly a cool-looking game nintendo should do games like that

also after that our house is infested with ridiculously creepy-crawly bugs that somehow look real despite moving way too fast and stuff. I guess I'm somehow responsible for this and leave the house, but then we also have lions or tigers outside for some reason and as I wake up I'm running down the street trying to escape

but yeah dreams are so subjective? aesthetically oriented, I wish I could just beam it onto youtube somehow or draw worth a damn before it becomes too hazy

The adventures/lands/towns??? of ZZT and Super ZZT... it was about time this lilla gem/bad boy got the attention it deserted!!! >:^B I think there's like 3 (or maybe more?? the mysteries of zzt/old games in general...), it's a really fucking startling game esthetic (the harddrive speakers in comp would spontaneously BLOW UP into a fanfare...) and gameplay wise (...all the while your character or symbol gets thrown into some bizarre crystal prison action without control etc).

EDIT aaa fuck this "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." so you hate me now dada huh??? you fucking shit!! *dada looks like kaworus avatar as bonzi seems to think forum software IS the site admin*

i cant... like i posted 10 good images i found and this fucking message tells me not which one is the problem chile. so here's just a one in-game builder fanmade picture!!

ZZT is fantastic!!!!!!!! iirc you could make music, but it had to be coded. like you had to manually input the timing and pitch of each note. wourme, the guy who did seiklus, did some pretty ingenious and prettily-designed levels. one had a bad end where you get completely torn up and eaten by a soda machine (?)

I made tons of ZZT games on my parents' win95 packard bell. the combination of the mechanically-simple puzzles and the bold symbol & color interface is unrivaled... has game making ever rlly progressed beyond ZZT?? I dunno

There is a ZZT book coming out next year

ZZT was a bit before my time (I'm 9) but it looks fantastic given the technology at the time

I played its ancestor, Kingdoms of Kroze, all the time as a kid on the ol' Tandy....  I still remember being annoyed at how rings of invisibility only made life harder for you >:-[ ... I still kind of want to make an ASCII game like that, but eh I'll never get around to that noise
