RE: cicada on Lovey Bahn
the synopsis/description of the books are amazing but I wonder what's actually in the books. 50 pages of schizophrenic babble or 1 page copied 50 times?? only the true collectors know...
Right? I think you can look inside of some of the books and they're actually different, but her style includes lots of sentences written over and over again, so it seems doable. I really want to drop down on one of the $7 ones... I really should...
This link was the one that BLEW MY MIND when I was younger and didn't have salt forums yet. It's a wiki for "tanasinn" which is some Japanese 2ch zalgo-shit meme, I have no idea what its deal is, but as far as I can tell, saying these things are tanasinn is essentially identical to saying they're salt (different in some key, unfathomable particulars, but it seems to guarantee some strangeness and therefore interesting things). I seriously recommend poking around this website.
http://seesaawiki.jp/w/uvoa/d/%a5%d5%a5%ea%a1%bc%a5%b2%a1%bc%a5%e0 The left sidebar takes you to various kinds of media - you can google translate or see what each one is in their urls (books, music [which ][/which] video games, FREE video games [awww ][/awww], movies etc.) That link above is the Free Games one - it's festooned with RPG maker games. I downloaded and played these in the PRIME of my aesthetic development and some of them are simply not found outside of this one place.
NO. : I don't remember what this one is
PP's World: I posted screenshots of this wayyyyyyy back when I first got here it's a fucking insane RPG maker game with a very short plot, I couldn't understand any of it but at several points very, very cool and strange experiences are yours to find
SOUP: This one is easy to find outside of Japan because it got reported on by tim w and tigsource, it's an LSD fangame. I liked it when I was a kid, but it's not very interesting.
OH!威信慕: All I remember about this is that it's a visual novel based off of a cooking anime and within the first minute I somehow got a giant hand to descend from the sky and remove one of the characters, who screamed. I haven't played it since then.
And you'll also see western games known for their special styles - La La Land series and Uin (same guy), Knytt.
edit: If you only download one game, maybe try らくがきランド / Rakugaki Land / Graffiti Land for me, it's an RPG maker game with this fun sketchy "graffiti" style. I played it when I was little and couldn't figure out SHIT but maybe there's more to it than talking to colorful shapes?
らくがきランド Whatever it is.... there's something there..... why else would we feel the need to make up words to describe this underlying feeling? fenicience, tanasinn, salt... all just words for memorably bizarre but connoting all sorts of other things. Very personal.
