I deleted all the spam and changed the captcha service we use (previously recaptcha, now keycaptcha). apparently the spam came from someone selling a way to break recaptcha! guess he wanted to demonstrate that he could really do it

a long time ago i worked out how to take a VRML snapshot of the current 3D state in one of the n64 emulators, and used it to recreate the mario 64 starting area outside the castle... it still took a long time cause none of the texture information was there so i had to retexture everything. i made a demo of it using Blitz3D where you control a yellow smiley-face ball sliding around collecting different color coins. also i had a giant NES buried under the waterfall

Back on page 4 thecatamites posted this unbelievable lost laserdisc game with a perfectly pitched trailer made of indistinguishable halloween vhs clips. Well, it's lost no longer, so if you dare and care to peel the youtube compression away from that original video and view the clips ten steps closer to the dream:

All of the above

I made a post but the images inside turned out to be uncomfortably huge. Please stand by while I resize them to be smaller!
Here we go, attempt #2 . Okay good this is much more manageable

anybody else remember a childhood phobia of when piston honda would do that eyebrow twitch??? I just realized that is like pretty much anxiety itself as far as I'm concerned, in its purest form

Nice. I was looking for stuff like this to share with the BYOB webcomics thread. Kaz's site is great too, though there are a few comics on there that aren't work safe.

Also, Imgur has auto-resizing urls for large images like that so you don't have to mess around with image sizes before uploading, you can append (from smallest to largest) s, m, l or h right before .jpg in the url for smaller, more browser friendly sizes and thumbnails. Here's an m.jpg version for example

BLACK MOON

A Freudian tale of adolescent sexuality set in a postapocalyptic world of shifting identities and talking animals. It is one of Malle's most experimental films and a cinematic daydream like no other.

Neato! I didn't know Kaz had a website, but it also never occurred to me to look for one. Thanks, that will keep me occupied for a while.

Also thanks for the hot imgur tip, it's amazing the kind of stuff websites come up with these days.

Anyhoo, here's a video y'all might like.

I was excited about how much it reminded me of those Japanese bands that emulate American music, especially with the kinda weird-sounding lyrics that are heavy on incomprehensible metaphors. as it turns out, the lyrics were written by a french guy, who also apparently 'arranged' and produced the track. so I guess the AI just came up with the melody, and unfortunately did not write the line "daddy's car turns me on", which would have been a gorgeous thing for a computer to say
