Oh I didn't notice you had edited in, by "black queers" I just mean, two black transwomen I happen to have met from school, turned out to be furries when I connected with them on social media. I didn't want to say it because making such a big generalization from two people is really unfair. But I'm sticking with the impression I got, although when it's the other direction, seeing a furry on the internet and finding they're black when they reference it or post a pic of themselves, you don't not see a lotta wolves, don't you!!? I wonder what the crossover is between people's "Favorite animals" and their fursonas once they incept into furrydom? Probably furry forums have some "reasons why you/when did you..." threads that would be enlightening.

game from last page sounds sweet Tony, the best experience from roguelikes as we know is being in a vast and incomprehensible world and having no idea what you're doing, yet all of your actions somehow have quantitative importance and thru your scrambling, adaptive wiles or luck you occasionally can scrap together a handful of good decisions for a few glorious moments of success before burning out and meeting your gruesome doom. and I don't even play many roguelikes, but fucking juicy contextual ways of meating ur doom are great too
thanks man!!! i've stopped playin' them too for the more part. they don't have enough races.

I just wanted to be whatever when I was actual kid, I think I mostly wanted to be a bird growing up, because like you go to bed and want to have dreamz about flying/everybody ends up flying in dreams, so bird person is logical conclusion

haha yeah the wolf thing I just meant there isn't much preconceived notions going on there with species choice, like I think 'wolf' is just a general thing most PEOPLE want to be regardless of race. There might be a slight bias with the Asian furries of wanting to be a tiger, but like actual furries from Asia where the MYTHOS is there and probably a lot of wolf traits become tiger traits if you travel there I guess.

it is a little surreal thing when you discover a furry is not some random white dude though, I mean gay or whatever is assumed but it's like really just the same generalizations people make about nerdz and stuff. Women don't play video games stereotype vs. women aren't furries stereotype are probably correlated somehow lol. If the girl or woman plays videogames then they have the opportunity to choose cat person in skyrim in a proto-furry moment? The weirdest situation to me was some random lizard or gecko character, was essentially a knockoff of Gex but a hermaphrodite, turns out to be some large black dude irl haha, like just because I thought Gex was some ultimate manifestation of suburban white kid angst, anthropomorphic version of bart simpson type situation? Not quite bart simpson but we discussed this type of character that was marketed in old video games before, sonic the hedgehog might even technically be this

um I've also seen like actual race play not quite anime porn type things and that is pretty gros. I remember it was like those old spice commercials but if someone took the commercial at face value and didn't realize it was a joke haha? Like even in real media, when groups of people get too SHINY I start getting worried? TJ Combo is this (maybe can hide behind the fact it was early 3D), maybe the old Gatorade commercials are secretly like this (glowing sweat fuels sweet rave parties)? Is Coolio video a parody of this? Whole group of actual human beings reduced to a visual fx/lighting effect. Like sometimes I wonder if these types of people would /chill the fuck out/ a little if they explored furry themes lol. Not too seriously but I keep saying that the furry thing is kind of open-ended/democratic compared to some random internet subcultures. Maybe they just find actual shininess appealing as an independent trait, would be satisfied playing a newt furry or something lol

Edit: ahaha I hope that wasn't extreme, just trying to bring home some kind of theme, like times you worried something on the internet is something you don't want to stand for in any form and you're pretty sure you called it right? But you can never know people's motivations and only estimate or hypothesize etc.

Edit: Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden was totally offensive but it touched on ideas, like a young impressionable child if exposed to enough tv commercials with ethnic people playing sports, will they start to believe even if only in a stupid back part of their brain, that there is a Barkley-like universe where these people are just constantly playing sports, don't even eat or sleep, just play sports forever. Sports/athleticism limbo

Edit: To be fair, there is also the universe where kids play with random action figures/toys forever, sometimes in a white void and do exaggerated voice acting of the action figures and there is constant "dramatization" text floating around

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDBIb2fudtw

ahaha it's an ok balance of people in the actual commercial, but still the sports dimension... I want to hyperjump into it, suddenly have magical motivation to exercise all day every day. And this isn't the full-on glowing sweat commercials, I remember it got pretty much like SWEET RAVE PARTY, glowsticks but sweat, pretty sure it's not a mandela effect from powerthirst

I hope the like, 3rd post back with Barkley and the sports dimension wasn't too bad, it's like sort of a conclusion from the random internet trans stuff with the ms. pac man bow/trans macguffin, what even IS gender to some people, what even is race to some other group of people, hopefully came across as humor in it's neurotic-ness

the blurb in the description might be aaron funk completely bullshitting/in jest but it's the kind of thing the internet needs to hear sometimes. I think. Like that guy who is probably still trying to make the perfect RPG in this http://rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/Main_Page and you get worried has never self-examined anything ever. Like I talk about this stuff on message boards a lot, sometimes this kind of thing (random homebrew games) can be complete outsider art, or like a cargo cult of random symbols/stimulating sprites and then sometimes the accidental moment of genius? But like you see stuff that's not even on the level of having THEMES, there's like psuedo-themes that like maybe if converted to a special language would sound one of those logical statements that doesn't compile ("good is good because it's not evil"), or like never graduated past grade school pen and paper diagrams for theoretical games, some kinda artifact/crystal that's like a means to a plot that never happens? Idea of crystal becomes a kind of voodoo where you hope ideas will follow on their own somehow? We debate a lot, is it a form of insanity or just depression or lack of education even? Did anyone notice the little commentary on poor education on the last track title? "12. Say School Bus Yellow 17 Times Then Say Your Own Name And Cry" album art kind of looks like school bullying over some completely trite shit destined to be forgotten, etc.

blurb for context

Quote
We are born, she says, and we begin to disintegrate. These disintegrations give birth to further crumbling forms which plummet and reconstruct themselves into new malformations which in turn fall into dust and simultaneously elevate new structures infinitely. This might be what it is to exist, to shit all over everything before us, to erase it and for a moment, make it ours. Civilization built over civilization over civilization over long tainted ground. Zeus and a demon chiseling away at each other forever.

Build up from what’s accumulated, a neighborhood inside the psychiatrist and they will paint the houses for you. The grief can live here, the mistakes. The theoretical lives unlived can haunt the master bedrooms and basements in disrepair and squalor. Take away the doors and windows, paint the walls in tar and piss! The ecosystem fails, the weeds grow tall and expire as the paint curls away into nothingness. We may build what we build, but it’s always in flux, decaying and reorganizing itself. The threads all give way and you’re left naked again, crouched in a corner crushing a dried-up banana peel and watching it flake down onto your toes. Is stability in any form truly attainable or is the point to repeatedly chase what we perceive as stability?

Today I was born, I leave my own abysmal stamp until my death, trying my best not to look back at the trail of stillborns in the snow.
like it starts off with the plan for the perfect RPG in that old abandonware engine, but then I get to the part about random crystals, not even macguffin just GOAL ITEM where you expect the story to write itself as long as the goal item exists, and I'm pretty sure everyone did this when at a sufficiently young age. I mean it could be more innocent, just it's a goal item, wanting in childhood to just draw a bunch of maps n shit. But it's like not even the definition of a macguffin even quite possibly? Macguffins are in movies that /actually exist/ and they do work well enough that you can sufficiently build a movie, and the script etc. has been written, it's a completed work. What do you even call a macguffin in a work that was never completed, or even destined to never be completed

if you go the complete opposite route and make this ultimate anti-theme game, is the childhood purity possible, just completely motivated by wanting to make the maps n shit. There was that one guy back when it was gaming world who made like ridiculous rudra/seiken densetsu rpg maker maps and may have never actually finished a game, but was that really the same thing I'm talking about? That stuff was like a scary mutant version if the innocent childhood map-making stuff to me. It might sort of be the concept of 'horror vacui'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horror_vacui

https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/article/horror-vacui-the-fear-of-emptiness

haha the second website is actually kinda good because it's like, is there a horror of like, not averting horror vacui these days? But I think that random rpg maker dude was classic horror vacui. I could argue my album art is trying to be horror vacui on purpose at times, like not exactly, it's trying to go for some kind of OLD TECHNO COVER that probably never really existed. But like, the IDM stuff this DESIGNER'S REPUBLIC thingy took over as the face of IDM

https://www.google.com/search?q=designer%27s+republic&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi9lrH96c_aAhVyUt8KHRwvAt0Q_AUICigB&biw=1362&bih=617

google images makes them look exciting, maybe some old glory days (I see the game Wipeout), but like this pisses me off

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1362&bih=617&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=E4XdWtmKNeKiggedjb74Cw&q=autechre+exai&oq=autechre+exai&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0l2j0i24k1l3.56990.59246.0.59639.13.10.0.3.3.0.191.860.8j2.10.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.13.883...0i67k1j0i8i30k1.0.jLZKAfP4jAE#imgrc=_

I guess there's maybe a hidden easter egg where the album cover can be interpreted as literal code or something, but who cares lol

we will never have this again :( https://www.discogs.com/Autechre-Amber/release/30187

I mean it fits NEW AUTECHRE to an extent, but like how much of that is just... it's an abstract cover, a lot of abstract things would fit. I guess they still make covers with ACTUAL ENERGY but it's other artists. They also are slowly ruining aphex twin aesthetic. Yeah at least their approach to IDM stuff is the worst nihilistic crap ever. Maybe I'm misreading but it just seems like the same exact trend in website design where human brain is fooled that minimalism in design sends out magic intelligence/sophistication rays, lol

and then Analord is aphex twin but it was released on his own label so it's like his own photography even? And it's like random synth photos half the time but it's this ridiculously etheral lighting n stuff

https://www.discogs.com/search/?q=analord&type=all

but yeah my album art is supposed to be more harkening back to THIS STUFF

which coincidentally is aphex twin album art before even aphex logo is finalized, and WAY BEFORE scary aphex face aesthetic becomes a thing

this albumart works I guess

I dunno, a lot of djsainthubert album art aesthetic is more like though, super noisy or some kind of fractal art that doesn't look like stereotypical fractal art. I had some stuff where I tried to redo the pollock paint splatter idea but with apophysis 'clouds' or whatever they're called

this works on some level maybe haha

lol am I asking was horror vacui (I mean commenting on the old victorian art or whatever by calling it 'horror vacui') A MISTAKE, was the real problem STIFF ASS ART like that second one on the wikipedia page. It's not that bad? But still maybe elements of, some person... check, a horse... check, some castle... check, etc. lol

A while ago you mentioned literal bible translations so I started looking for some. And found some normie dude talking about various sorts of Bible translation, and in the process validating and defending ENGRISH basically haha but as a religious studies professional and without even gussying it up with nostalgia or... anything but sincerity. Salt world has a friend in the christian community... An-dy. You friend.

also dude that rpgm dude sounds really interesting, you should post him or his name if there's anything left. i've always loved the super dense, loud, lots of little details style of placing images. some of it is because it discourages the "classy" "minimalist" look that Apple popularized and ruined good colors and weird shapes and dense, insane graphics. I was a kid when it happened and I'm PRETTY DAMN SURE it was the iPod bursting ahead of everyone and stealing the "white block" design to slam dunk itself into the cultural hoop of the ultimate snobbish wealthy hipster / COOL PEOPLE fashion icon. i guess, i was just a kid.

haha I was kind of serious about horror vacui vs. stiff ass art though, horror vacui only gained traction because you can sort of measure a 'busy' picture, there is no academic way to measure how DEAD a picture looks lol, suddenly some mathematical genius figures out a objective measurement of 'lifelessness' in art. apple designs measure thru the roof, stocks plummet, world is saved

http://www.cybercomm.nl/~teccie/technopage/autechre

somebody found this old autechre review page, it reads like a mediocre book report, probably guy is more enthusiastic than writing the book report but he still has the same skill set, still struggling to find synonyms to fill web space

I'm not sure how I feel about Nintendo stealing all their designs from apple or whatever's hip, there is this new LABO synthesizer thing and it's literally cardboard I guess, probably no real reason other than to steal google cardboard idea. Japan does create stuff/is creative but nobody ever has wanted to admit they STEAL A LOT, not literal stealing but like no fucks given about intellectual property. At least Metal Gear Solid is a bunch of homages going on, but a bunch of old videogames existed before the concept of homage even got to Japan I think? (joke oh god don't take me at face value)

original metal gear boxart is literally just a still frame from terminator 1

https://www.whosampled.com/cover/564104/Norihiko-Hibino-Twilight-Sniping-Tango-Spellbound/

this is my contribution to whosampled. It's maybe questionable but it's a lot less VAGUE ASS relation than some of the stuff people claim is a cover. I think plenty of the MGS2 tracks are original but this has to be stolen from something if not this particular track, and it's a pretty STRONG part of the overall soundtrack, I'm sure plenty of people have fuzzy memories about that track in particular. And like you hear some of the other tracks and they maybe kind of feel weak by comparison

I've probably posted about the mgs2 plagarism thing before but I think you're a newbie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLXAoTbj3uQ

this one really isn't a weak track though, I'm pretty sure it's not ripping/homaging anything and if so it's the most out of nowhere video game music thing ever quite possibly? song almost melts then DAT BRUSH SOLO cheetahs literally hear this song in their brains while chasing shit. Like the initial melting bit is like if you are cheetah is it just mundane to runfast or is it like total super saiyan matrix feeling ENTERING FAST MODE and then the brush breakbeat stuff is like goes fast takes down random prey animal

I also possibly posted it before but Resident Evil 4 soundtrack was probably kind of mundane, I think a lot of the music is layering eerie sample packs rather than original sound making. Somebody in the comments section said that that merchant track SERENITY is taken from a drum and bass sample/stems cd, probably pitchshifted beyond recognition

and then this one at like :52 i saw the shot of principal skinner like walking DIRECTLY INTO RIVER doesn't care if drowns, and like I start this whole comment chain and then, I'm pretty sure the canon simpsons storyline for skinner is basically cloud vs. zack in Final Fantasy VII hahaha

principal skinner on simpsons, if that's true isn't he literally the exact same storyline as Cloud from FFVII and that ZACK dude I think it was?

also parallels with MGS2 and FFVII I think, Raiden is just wannabe version of Solid Snake, but the irony is Raiden does some crazy ass shit in the game, by the end he's like dodging multiple metal gear rays and taking them down with a mere rocket launcher. It's completely retarded the way it's depicted but it does sort of tie in with the game theme, this virtual version of solid snake becomes super soldier himself. Is there like lesser known japanese lore where an IMPOSTOR surpasses the master or something

this is maybe not /great/ acting but it's pretty surreal for a resident evil game haha. Also I know I griped about PS4 and Xbox One and all the good paradigm shifts have been done already, but this is definitely post uncanny valley. By that I mean it's not photorealism really but like the guy moves around n shit and you don't get the eerie vibe (at least unintentional ones). Your mind can sink in that it's a real conversation or movie scene or whatever

The Japanese copying is totally a thing just like Chinese copying is a thing, but Japanese copying seems to be more frequently done out of earnest artistic respect? Basically the "they'll never hear or care about this" sort of idea "homaging" (cold ripping off) that Westerners do with animes, but it's happening to our culture, pop, so it feels weirder. Also it's been a part of their culture since at least, when they stopped being isolationist and accepted the idea of hanging out with other countries (anime high schooler character development repeating japanese history) I read they sent ambassadors around in groups to like EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD or at least the really big ones and the guys would just write down everything and report back good ideas that their governments could copy, basically spying but completely open about it, and only surface-level societal stuff. Then they collectively got and maintained their reputation for working hard and making advanced robotics.

Also dude  that's a much better way to saay what I was saying! "post uncanny valley". Like we've finally hit the point where you can make gross shit really look GROSS and detailed in a weird, cool movie way, and it looks like a concrete WORLD arrangement instead of a huge duplo block. Some horror games that come out now actually make me EXCITED to see how intricate they're willing to go and even sometimes... AWED? and it's really embarrassing! Also re: RE7 it's pretty great we're still doing numbered sequels, when I was a kid I was looking forward to like Mario 1024 and Doom 6

I really want to find the scene but don't know how to search for it (probably will think of something but I'm out of it) but like there was always the shit on simpsons that you could enjoy as a kid without getting ADULT IN JOKES (sometimes I feel it's marketed like being an adult and getting dirty jokes is equivalent to understanding the tru nature of reality. Not really but you know the feeling as a kid, you don't get the adult reference and sometimes you'll feel like the adult is telling you with body language or whatever GUFFAW WEAKLING CHILD YOU WILL NEVER GET ADULT JOKE, I HAVE RECEIVED THE ESOTERIC KNOWLEDGE AND KEY TO ALCHEMY/IMMORTALITY BY GETTING AN OBSCENE REFERENCE THAT IS MOSTLY JUST LAZY WRITING) I exaggerated in the parentheses but maybe this is entirely family guy's schtick and south park to a lesser extent. No but like I do feel that way A LOT, like there is this big commodity? Maybe not the word, on knowing swear words and that sex and drug references exists and like sometimes you feel like for some adults it's the only thing they really HAVE to feel like there's something 'extra' to being an adult (drugs references - watches fear and loathing 110 times on loop and beats off, doesn't even do drugs but enjoys drug references/counterculture that much they feel compelled to self-pleasure) I have only seen clips of either but Trainspotting feels like the better drugs movie anyway

but yeah the simpsons scene was entirely IT FEELS LIKE A MOVIE WHY ARE MOVIES SO FUCKING WEIRD WHY DO ADULTS MAKE THESE THINGS (mnus the 'fucking' part) I was suggesting in the youtube comments maybe there is an only for adults reference that vietnam flashback/trauma is giving skinner super strength/determination somehow (or like mkultra shit but more like metal gear super soldier project) but it's only speculation

with the 'japanese copies stuff' statement it wasn't really anti-Japan just anti anime fans who think like 'anime invented every idea ever' MAYBE, not really sure it's a thing, or maybe it was a thing back in early 2000s or whatever but everything is findable on youtube now etc. Like sometimes I get worried some fanatic about anime is so isolated in the anime sphere/bubble that they earnestly believe japan and/or anime created the sci-fi genre? I mean there are still those people right, who only listen to anime soundtracks and some j-pop, sometimes I think the interest in j-pop is less honest because it's not anime enough, not ANIMEFIED enough as in a term like 'gameified'. Even Saturday Night Live made an amazing dig/jab at weeaboos in a skit once, game show host goes 'isn't this kinda racist though?' (guy in the skit is an actual expert/professor on Japan). Like the whole uncomfortable sinking feeling the person is only interested in Japan for this anime high/stimulus

I think it's definitely gotten way more self-aware though (the steamed hams anime opening)

but yeah like I'm not sure if that sort of anime fan really exists anymore but if I detected one I'd feel compelled to ask "Don't you know this guy JAMES CAMERON exists, don't you know RIDLEY SCOTT BLADE RUNNER exists", I fear there is a type of anime fan that wouldn't care because without anime aesthetic sugarcoating the storyline/themez it's meaningless to them?

they actually did an anime tie-in short movie with the new blade runner movie, it was done by the cowboy bebop producer I think, it seemed OK but probably mostly a novelty, anime ver of the movie world, and mostly just its own thing, closely tied to the actual movie could get interesting, anime shots aping the whole wasteland goop farm from the beginning or whatever powerful imagery they felt like, anime-fied take on a major character is an effective idea if done right. The blind villain guy who kinda maybe looks like Jesus/Jesus complex is already like TOTAL ANIME CHARACTER if you're thinking of the right anime, evangelion or something. The psuedo-christian themez type anime we were talking about. Villain Jesus guy in Blade Runner doesn't move much because it's the acting in the movie, but then you have an epiphany it looks like WHEN ANIME DOESN'T MOVE MUCH for budget reasons or just effective in the context of an anime. You discover blade runner 2049 was genuinely 'boring not slow', the pacing in the acting was the same motivation behind stalling in the anime to save on animation costs

yeah I mean I will always admire that part of Japan, I will admire any country that kind of sort of 'believes in American Dream more than America' sort of behavior. Like reads surface stuff American history, doesn't know about random lying cheating stuff in American history, believes in impossible goal of somehow doing it in a halfway fair way and accomplishes it for the most part haha. And then I'm pretty sure Japan, there was a phase of 80's news/movies/media in America that was like JAPAN IS GOING TO TAKE OVER EVERYTHING EVER that the anime fans didn't live through. They were basically the illuminati (as in scapegoat for everybody's gripes ever) of their day from the sound of it

Putin actually came to power as a direct result of American pop culture needing random Russian dudes as bad guys in TV/movies, eternal valid/sort of politically correct ENOUGH bad guys for works of fiction

Edit: oh another thought I forgot, if I properly read Book of Revelations it would probably be the crazy mindfuck anime ending of the bible, lol

ROGER THE NEGOTIATOR, still not sure if that ending was anything deep going on or like, literally just a cursory knowledge of mindfuck philosophy ideas dramatized and stylized

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeqFcD5XLqk

I mean it's simple enough, the entire series gets 'reset' and the whole thing was some inceptionshits I guess. But as a kid you want like some more information than THAT. Is it supposed to be his DOOM for his reality to reset over and over and that's the meaning of the ending? Was it totally just posing with mindfuck philosophy ideas/feels? help Was the ending just secretly hating their fanbase and refusing to depict/animate the epic final robo battle?

edit: probably some good psuedo-christian storyline with that anime, MEGADEUCE was actually supposed to be MEGADEUS but that's all I really remember

edit: there is probably a quasi-illuminati group in the anime too. Japan is also my hero for this, they know conspiracy narratives to some extent but they seem completely detached from it and have realized its potential as a DRAMATIC DEVICE and nothing else? Maybe I'm wrong but I remember that ranting japanese website from gaming world days with 'stealth jew' and I'm pretty sure that guy was the outlier in Japanese society

edit: does anybody still have that website archived or whatever, george w bush has glowing red eyes pre-memes, monica lewinski is randomly a cartoon. monica lewinsky is not just cartoon, she is like kathy lee and hoda logo style drawing/cartoon, that kinda cartoon

hahaha this is gonna sound full on atheist but I'm trying to be kind of logical and objective, like does turning life into series of rituals religionwise make you kind of deficient at detecting GESTURES in everyday stuff. Not like actual body language gesture, like does this look bad or good if I do a certain thing, situations lol People are extreme about 'pope is evil' stuff and is probably usual conspiracy stuff, but nobody wants to just say stuff on the level of 'it's not the best gesture'. Pope hat, in animal language could be like the lizard that poofs up skin and tries to look bigger than everyone else. Christianity/catholicism, pope hat as display of dominance if converted to animal lizard flap of skin language. Creates parody movie world of religion where it is found all religion was invented to promote ultra-specific hats, was purely a business venture of some proto hat industry. Yertle the turtle secretly or not so secretly parody of pope stuff, plot was essentially 'make yourself taller (even if just an optical illusion) and people will listen to you/find you important' I'm pretty sure?

Other secret movie script where Tom Hanks discovers origins of Protestantism, was against materialism in church stuff/ornate cathedrals but secretly it was said exactly as "this is some total pimp my ride shit, I'm done with dis shit"

also thoughts that religion is inherently anti-"brain is a computer" ideas, worries number of powerful/memorable symbols in the religion is kind of like the number of bits you have to work with on a videogame system, tries to do advanced calculation but is in like binary based on how symbol-fied the religion is to that person "cross mary cross cross mary cross cross mary cross"

I don't really want to go into Islam that much, but erm I don't think there's enough humor that's like radical islamic terrorists, is this just the same thing as rando militia dudes in America? Just instead of touting 'obama's gonna make us all communist pinkos' it's like 'western education is sin and devil'. Didn't they find Osama Bin Laden's laptop, and it was like possibly some porn, also dumb pc shooter games and some anime and steven seagal movies. Humor where description of 47 virgins in heaven is edited to sound like description of a waifu

I've heard stuff like 'timothy meveigh gets a slap on the wrist historically' but never much vocal stuff about terrorists being different flavor of militia dude. if we gave the terrorists pickup trucks would they hang the terrorist flag/banner in the back window of the pickup truck

In other chat, mentions once I had observation in Resident Evil 2 police station there is a note that Barry is a card-carrying member of the NRA, is the secret of resident evil that all the events of resident evil were a dream, and the mansion S.T.A.R.S. incident is something awful by consequence. "rumors of shit happening at a mansion? let's burst in there with gunz with our super-jurisdiction paramilitary force thing". Don't the events of the first games turn STARS into some ridiculously powerful force with no restrictions like at all. I don't really remember

I mean the S.T.A.R.S. thing is totally just a plot device that the characters would have this special training to survive pretty good in a zombie crisis, but the Resident Evil director might've thought it through a little bit, thrown in a clue that maybe the people on the team are sorta gun nut types? lol

but yeah maybe problem with atheism/online atheism is like assuming if once religious, that the person had the same motivations as ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. Maybe I dunno. I liked the post that maybe in ancient times going to church was like whooooaaa Matrix shit. But yeah atheism thoughts should be more assuming naivistic stuff about what being religious is like, the interprets christian symbols as binary code part of my post lol

metal gear games, revengeance had this same trope as MGS2, former or guys running for president being bad guy and jacked as all fuck, not actual presidental build, build of a pro golfer

I bet all these new posts are just computer generated saltw-content to prop up that JS:miner distributed monero mining thing my antivirus keeps warning me about

I want to return to the black furries mini discussion. I never noticed the wolf thing, tho a google search turns up a lot of fursuits that look like they could definitely be wolves and maybe a chipmunk. it's a kind of interesting subject because in shedding your human-form by becoming a furry, you also shed your human ethnicity and anything else that makes you categorized as person. All that's left is whatever you want to be in your mind, and you get new traits or races to categorize yourself as and belong to as you wish. I have mixed feelings about that - it's kind of beautiful, but also feels like a lot is lost.

it's not necessarily the case ofc, you could create a character with particular features that resemble yourself, but this seems to have no appeal to most furries of any background.

part of what surprised me about the wolf thing tho is that the two black furries I know both have reptilian inclinations, one draws a lot of reptiles and is a muscle dragon with a huge ass dick that is like Priapus-erect and just flopping over, and the other idk if he has a fursona but he draws almost exclusively reptiles, including some that actually do have afros. In my head this was because no animal afaik has afro-textured hair and it/other features would look weird on top of like a fox, also the first shrek

I think it's ultimately cool probably. I still think the youtube comment on Plinkett Avatar review, white cis straight guy as hero, averts or doesn't know the term 'status quo' so they just say AVATAR HERO IS LAZY DEFAULT DUDE or something amazing. I do think there's so much stuff about being white that is just, there's not too much pressure to really be anything, it's a bunch of DEFAULT stuff like, I dunno wear a t-shirt or something. Like the troublesome thing about nazis was they were trying to find everything unique about being white like WAGNER or whatever. I don't think young people identify classical music as white people music, it's like grandpa music instead lol.

I'm disgressing but I felt like being a white person I was never forced to like or dislike anything ever or dress a certain way or whatever. I was totally labeled as a nerd but it still felt more 'ok'. If I had been black, feels like this insane amount of societal pressure to me, maybe it's not that way really in 2018, but it's like, even the dragon ball z shirts that black people seemed to wear in high school, was there PEER PRESSURE to find dragon ball z cool or something? I swear there's a lot less sub-groups you're going to feel like you can fit into if you're black. Like there's the random black goth kid, but how many cases were there of black people forming a group like 'goths'. It wouldn't be literally goth because gothic implies EURO but like an 'it's alright to get depressed' scene I guess? There's planet mu, u-ziq's label promoting that FOOTWORK stuff and it seems like the kind of 'its own thing' sort of movement I'm hoping exists. I keep thinking like, is it the closest equivalent for black people, to starting a rave music-y scene?

I'm serious about the 'it's alright to get depressed' scene/movement among black people, I think white people have a little bit of a monopoly on the whole DEPRESSION thing, it gets into icky feelings.... radiohead..... being depressed implies nuance, lol. I mean it could be an ironic/self aware movement about being depressed

but yeah if I were any other ethnicity I'd feel moments at time where I'd just want to SHED EVERYTHING preconceived notions about what the heck I'm supposed to be. That weird thing where you feel the need to unify as group but you're worried everybody's got a weird ass idea of what the common identity is supposed to be. It was cool learning about Ghana and the movie posters and then later on some movie trailers and stuff, I have it in my head that Ghana is THE JAPAN OF AFRICA now. I keep meaning to look up, supposedly their fashion is considered unique among African stuff too, I'm like keeping the Ghana is Japan theme and wondering is this the African take on a kimono

https://www.google.com/search?q=ghana+fashion&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiK6cr1_dHaAhVCZN8KHSfVDBYQ_AUICigB&biw=1362&bih=617#imgrc=_

lol I dunno

the dragon ball z shirts still mystify me, it's like maybe it wasn't exclusively a black people thing but it was this specific type of shirt, like white people would wear dragonballz t-shirts but I didn't even KNOW where these other shirts came from. And sometimes it was a similar type of shirt but it was more kung-fu/samurai themez

Edit: the black version of rave thing is maybe troublesome because even my brother acknowledges house music was invented by a bunch of gay black guys. But I guess by 'rave' I mean like full on glowstick party time music haha. I think footwork has the same energy the everyday person thinks of when they think RAVEMUSIC. that kind of SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE ELECTRONO BEATS feel to the songs. there was an aphex song that was alternately titled ELECTRO GARBAGE BEATS/GARBAGEMUSIC and I still want to believe that was the true canon song title

Edit: also furries, without even going into the scene itself, the entire concept of what a furry is. I think there's even a psych study somewhere one time, where like people assume the furry character is their race. It might almost be like, people who draw Jesus as a black or chinese guy phenomenon. Going back to high school there were also the looney tunes shirts among not necessarily black but non-white people that might've been space jam theme but might've been completely unrelated too, bugs bunny dressed in random hip-hop fashion attire etc. lol it was weird like perhaps they were AVERTING space jam licensing by making it more generic. Maybe somewhere in the brain you assume berenSTAIN bears necessarily has to be portrait/allegory of some white family. I said something about maybe black people tending to be bear furries but I don't think that's true. But I think there's maybe dangerous implications, every race wants the title of TEDDYBEAR ultimately lol

Edit: fox furry is super cliched, but still noble thought, I don't want to be affectionate teddybear I want to be the ultimate asshole of animal society. steal chicken eggs, break thru chicken wire fences, annoy the fuck out of everyone/farmers.(HOMAR SIMPSON LOUSY FARMERS) It can be good allegory for something but it's just a bunch of furries do nothing with it. Random goat friend thinks from whatever kind of writings that it's NOT THE HIPPIES NOT THE PUNKS it's ASSHOLES who write history the most? Or something. Effective people tend to be strongly opinionated/viewed as total assholes

random raccoon in the video, guardians of the galaxy rocket raccoon is the first effective random ass furry as movie character in ages. Honestly really didn't give me the furry vibe because there is the suspension of disbelief A RACCOON WOULD THINK LIKE THIS IF COULD TALK. Steals batteries for no reason etc., wants to fuck shit up all the time. Voice is totally reminiscent of the edgy 90s video game character/mascot archetype

platonic ideal lol

Quote
These commentators speak thus: for example, a particular tree, with a branch or two missing, possibly alive, possibly dead, and with the initials of two lovers carved into its bark, is distinct from the abstract form of Tree-ness.[1] A Tree[1] is the ideal that each of us holds that allows us to identify the imperfect reflections of trees all around us.

read this at some point as, Plato had a notion of the goal of pixel art/pixel artist but Nintendo didn't exist yet

Mario 1 Mario is platonic ideal of a stereotype italian plumber dude. exactly the right amount of pixel data ur brain needs to register it

only mario 1 mario though, following iterations of mario are trying too hard to establish the Mario brand/iconography

as much as bonzi likes mario 3, the design of mario himself is kinda shit already at this point, has already steered away from sensation of 'there is this plumber dude jumping around on the screen aaaaaa what is happening'

just calling it 'mario 3' and not super mario bros. 3 feels kind of eerie hahaha I guess like TERMINATOR 2 etc.

terminator series could've been saved if they called the sequels SUPER TERMINATOR 2, TERMINATOR 2 SPECIAL CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION TURBO

Edit: I should get around to watching terminator 1, it seems kinda horror movie from what I heard though? Terminator 2 is maybe not really that well written but feels holy at times. Gets worried, was it the last movie to actually look like a movie, of all time? I worry it started this trend with sarah connor character, of these 'root for the movie protagionist who would be an insane person irl' type movies during the 90s but in terminator 2 it's pretty effective, even if you have this radical 'terminators aren't real' reading of the movie there's some themez about treatment of crazy people I guess. When I'm talking about the later 90s movies I kinda remember, it's just a device to garner sympathy for the main character thing, I mean in T2 it is TOO but it's totally lazy in some other movies. The Net is probably the most guilty example which is good because it's the one I remember anyway haha. "no no no no this isn't right my identity's been stolen NO I DON'T BELIEVE U CRAZY WOMMAN but but I'm the protagionist you must believ me", people say what's her name is a good actress and she might be but I swear the always reference The Net as an example haha?
