just a warning about the Africa wiki stuff, there was that GOD IS A DANK MEME youtube video and like.... there might be preconceived notions of literal vs. allegorical/metaphorical interpretation, and that might almost be white and/or Christian priviledge maybe? Like there was a story about this Africa warrior archetype guy in some country and like it's not our call to say 'is this just like a really inspiring Marvel superhero movie over there'. That's a major IRK with me about psytrance culture, the literal vs. allegorical ratio seems worrisome or lopsided. Also like nothing's consistent anywhere, there's the parts of China with Confucius art and it's Jesus mode half divine with like a literal halo, but mainstream China is probably like 'he was just a wise dude'
I don't think it's gonna Google correctly so just trust this anecdote that I had a course in college about Confucius and other guys, I think it was Confucius but not 100% but the quote is like "MAN IS NOT AN INSTRUMENT" and it was literally the ancient Chinese version of saying "don't be a tool" according to the professor
I said maybe latinization of random names from different countries was maybe racist but just because if I say MASTER KONG or something nobody's gonna know who I mean so Confucius, ok
speaking of which the word 'algorithm' was that, did I mention this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algorithm#Etymology it's kind of worrisome, it feels like 'if we call it ALGORITHM everyone's gonna forget the history and think Euro people invented everything in the back of their heads'
literal latinized name of the actual guy was like ALGORITHMUS if it didn't mention that
ugggh and then it's just full on people not liking the middle east and nobody ever has the opinion "it was way better according to the time period". nobody makes the argument teh middle east was a bunch of different phases and time periods and opinions and IMPERMANENT idea. extend the time range of any place ever and you're gonna make it more 3 dimensional
Edit: internet partly possible because of a guy named Muhammad, you owe him for memes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_ibn_Musa_al-Khwarizmi#/media/File:1983_CPA_5426_(1).png
the pinkos commemorated this guy lol
wikipedia has obtuse format that doesn't show up on a common message board, good jorb
and then he did something to do with the Jewish calendar?
but yeah related maybe more iffy an idea than it seems but this existed?
