actually it's just supposed health benefits for liver i'm thinking of with raw diet. i've read some good stories where people's state/mind has improved vastly after enduring the raw diet when they haven't slipped with it. raw because cooked/roasted food doesn't give enough work for the body to process through and it should be clean of extra shit. supposedly to get into a state where the body starts to clean up the toxics. i don't know exactly but i really need to change my diet a lot!!
Yeah this kind of bothers me, actually. There are a lot of stories floating around, but you should know that the raw food community tends to be pretty adamant about its beliefs. When I look at the Wikipedia article for raw foodism I see the phrase "Raw foodists believe..." used just a bit too often. These ideas about how eating a specific diet will "clean your body of toxins" sounds like a typical example of pseudoscience propaganda to me. (That and you live in one of the healthiest countries on earth, you're young and don't work in a coal mine. I don't think you have to worry that much about cleaning your body of toxins.)
Do what you want but if I were you I'd just start eating responsibly. Don't buy cheap stuff, eat 200 grams of vegetables and 2 pieces of fruit every day, regularly eat fatty fish. If that's not enough, experiment with pescetarianism or vegetarianism. Don't just dive into raw vegan food right away.
