i think that one Bulletstorm game and something called Lollipop Chainsaw were deliberate attempts to make something campy and over-the-top but the mainstream of ultraviolent pulp videogames is already so ridiculous that any attempt at irony just gets absorbed immediately into the ordinary state of affairs. wasn't this what Duke Nukem started off as before it became the Bro Grail. possibly the same with Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil and whatever else.
there's the Earth Defense Force series i guess which is just about blowing up monstrous spiders + buildings.

Edit: Urban Hymns is my favorite album ever, so I'm trying to find stuff closer to that. Bittersweet Symphony is great and all but my favorite tracks are actually Sonnet, The Drugs Don't Work and One Day.
