Nah you're right, I was just being intentionally dense about the whole "statistics/graphs are lies" thing. My brother is a designer and he specialized in infographics for a while (until he realized it's extremely difficult to find clients for that sort of thing) and it's extremely interesting stuff. Entails a lot of talking with experts and helping them organize their thoughts.

But I did mean it when I said marketing is lies and design is truth, because design caters to the subconscious.
I thought you meant I said those things and idk if that's what I think or not. I agree tho, infographics can be really interesting

enjoy your fucken trip to land of too many things things that look cool

I just noticed this post. That infographic is why I no longer sit at my computer. But I've been reading lots of articles from different sources all pretty much saying the same thing so I was like, fuck I'm going stop sitting then.

I lack a standing desk (and the money to buy one) though so I just put a bunch of boxes on my sitting computer desk. Looks really ghetto but it gets the job done.

I've been standing at my computer for a while. My biggest worry was that I wasn't going to be able to play games as well since I figured I wouldn't have the stability, but that turned out not to be the case and standing only sucked comfort-wise like the first week of doing so. I got used to it pretty quickly.

EDIT: It takes noticably less effort to stand up from a crouch now as well.
I thought so! if you are/were overweight it's probably mostly accurate, but otherwise I wouldn't listen to it at all. standing isn't a substitute for exercise tho, and you should watch out you aren't harming your legs, feet and knees. your feet can start to go flat if you put too much weight on the interior and you can get lots of other problems if you lock your knees

@Hero Bash: What part of "Terror" combined with "Tarantula" gave you even the slightest hint of impression that the person choosing this moniker was even remotely girl-like?

I'm trying to follow the logic, but it's got me genuinely baffled.

he said something about insulting a guy that was trying to date him.

He wasn't trying to date me, we were role playing.

Yeah, My feet and knees are occasionally mildly sore. I also occasionally lock my knees, I'll try to avoid that, thanks for the tip. I'm somewhat overweight still and standing hasn't caused me to lose any weight, but I haven't gained any either. Considering we just finished the holidays (lots of sugar and fatty foods pushed by family), I'll consider it a mild victory. Then again my hunger is just as rampant and I lack the interest/will to give up delicious food. And I don't enjoy exercise, but not because its painful, that is not a problem. I find exercise incredibly boring and I like, have A.D.D. or something.

I find it pretty boring too, but I just do it anyway bc I want the benefits and I'm unhealthy enough by disease without making it worse for myself. occasionally I'll listen to music or watch something

when college is in I also get exercise on my commute, a couple miles a day either walking or on a bike. and when I'm at my parents' I'm always doing some sort of physical work outside. so it might be easiest just wo work in some physical exercise somewhere, rather than designate a set exercise time. or start skateboarding or mountainbiking

actually everyone should check out pump tracks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fofuwA2iOfE pumping is a pretty new 'sport', it's easy to get into, doesn't really require skill, and is a really vigorous full-body workout. the first time I did it I was pretty much beat after 15 minutes. it's surprisingly fun

Just hilarious. The people who Actually Know Their Stuff all say it's not a big deal (and it isn't) but then they GO TO THE INTERNET to find angry people so they can pretend it's a controversy.

particularly in this type of music. "original songs" barely existed in the Olden Days, it's mostly an invention of the record labels.

I woke up this morning and could barely stand still my head was spinning around. I've been up for about two hours and when I walk I can't walk a straight line. I'm disoriented or something. I thought at first it was rough weather and the ship was listing but A) I can walk straight unless its listing real real bad and B) its completely calm outside.

I'm gonna take a nap and hope this goes away because I got a bad feeling.

Whenever I exert myself like straining to do something ie: picking something really heavy up. I've had these wierd kind of tracer things show up in my vision. Like tons of tiny little bright off colored spots but I can't point out what colors they are they're just a discoloration. Its only happened like three times. Once at home and twice here. I'm wondering if the two things are related or if I'm just really tired this morning and need to wake up. I dunno why I would be I haven't been doing shit. Also I had a headache most of the morning yesterday which is unusual for me.

We have a medic and a mexican doctor onboard but I don't wanna go to them unless I know something is up cus thats how I got sent in last time and screwed out of like $12,000. I probably would have been sent in anyways though cus my hands didn't work and prolly would have just got worse.

Edit: well I saw the medic anyways because someone said my blood pressure could be high and I was physically fine he just said I prolly got something goin on with the fluid inside of my ear causing vertigo. probably from us rocking and rolling for a week straight and it threw me off a lil. So instead of just not doing anything I'm supposed to be not doing anything until lunch when I have to see him again. Its not really getting better or worse now but its not that bad either I can still get around just got to be careful. I'm prolly gonna tell him I'm fine even if I still fill a little odd because theres nothin they can do about it and I'm not going home because of some mild dizziness when I get up.

It looks kind of fun yeah. Unfortunately its too friggin' cold to do that right now, and I don't think there is a pump track anywhere near here. :P
