yo we need mad facebook plugins if we expect this site to flourish on The Web 3.0.  facebook plugins everywhere.  i want every forum post to have a like button attached to it.  i want a sidebar that shows all the facebook users who liked the page.  this is website making 101 guys let's get on the ball here.

facebook aside the latest IPB DOES have like buttons for individual posts and i am a huge fan of this feature so plz let's have this enabled

it sounds like the cheesiest horrible shit but it seriously ends up being a really cool nice feature

On first thought that sounds like something I'd like, but maybe a bit more hidden (under a generic, subdued share button?) but we'll have to see how it looks after we convert the forum.

ya I don't like the idea of a huge +LIKE 5 PEOPLE LIKE THIS POST SO IT'S IMPORTANT myself but maybe it could even be private to the poster, idk I'm sure yall will use your best judgment

first thing i do after i die in a train crash is probably refresh here so it really doesn't matter all that much to me what goes on but i trust that dada has his head on straight about this. i guess this is a non-post i'm just registering my awareness/support for something happening and maybe i'll get more involved later.

IDK, I've always viewed the "like" buttons as "Yes, I read your post, found it amusing/interesting, but have nothing to say in response"

Basically, it lets the poster know that his or her time spent on the post wasn't a complete waste of time.

i'd rather get a reply and this is a forum; if people want to come to forums it means facebook isn't doing everything for them, what's the point of replicating it other than vague marketing reasons that might not even be right

yes it's this, and idk if i was clear but it's not a facebook like button, it's part of the forum system.  it basically just says like "vellfire, jamie, geodude and 5 others like this".  it's just a good way of being like "yeah i agree with this post" even if you don't have anything to add to it.  it saves you from quoting posts and saying "this" or emptyquoting.

sometimes there's ap ost that you absolutely agree with but you honestly have nothing to say about it, and it can be really easy for it to look like nobody even read that post if nobody has anything specific to reply with

Yeah, Facebook isn't even the first to do something like that. I know there are some forums that just called it "karma points" or something stupid long before Facebook showed up.

the prob with karma points is that they seemed to just be like an ongoing tally for you as the user, whereas this is is purely post by post

Also I'm interested in writing articles but I'm not very good at it, I dont really feel like investing the time to go and acquaint with other forums since it will just add to the dail sites I visit lise so it would be cool if there's an outlet here for community creations. Event hose not so good, what I haed about the previous blog type was that it tried to set a standard on what will be shown on the frontpage.  I submitted something to someone who managed it an never got an answer if it was rejected or what.
