I don't really like dried noodles too much, so I buy frozen Udon at the Japanese store which tastes very close to freshly made ones.

i usually use dried noodles when i'm cooking on the wok stir frying them, but when it comes to pastas i try and keep things fresh/frozen.

my mom has a pasta roller so I go over to her place sometimes and bang out a bunch of spaghetti/fettuccine noodles and either dry or freeze em, it's nice because some eggs and a thing of whole wheat flour will get you a ton of reasonably healthy noodles that taste wonderful compared to the stuff you get in the grocery store.

ive also taken to making my own sauces lately, i've got some serious tomato curry, masala, marinara, alfredo, and pesto going on

i feel a bit limited in what i can cook because my apartment doesn't have an oven proper, it's this convection oven + microwave combo so when i put stuff in the oven it gets super dry

Duck in Hoisin Sauce

Just got some random packet of Hoisin and Garlic Sauce, and a whole frozen duck we had in the freezer. Turns out you don't get a whole lot of meat off a duck but DAMN is it tasty.

Good meal.

Salad with 1 head romaine, 1lb cherry tomatoes, 2 celery stalks. no dressing

Dessert is vanilla mint banana ice cream.

Speaking of vanilla, I'm currently making my own extract.  Got 4 vanilla beans and about 4 cups of vodka and soak the beans in the vodka in a jar for a couple of months and every once in awhile give it a shake.  I plan on giving some out as xmas gifts cuz i'm too cheap to buy people stuff.

Penn Station Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, 10". With their fantastically tasty but scary fattening peanut oil fries.
Oh and 22oz of cola.

This is the only meal I had other than a tiny burger later that my dad pushed on me (he was cooking a bunch of burgers and was annoyed that he cooked them and no one would eat any because they were already full/over their calorie limit)

So yeah Penn Station + tiny burger = 104% of my RDI of calories according to the calorie counter on my phone. Fuck.

The Penn Station was worth it though. I don't get Penn Station that often any more because I'm rarely the one driving and I'm the only one the wants it usually.

I'm a terrible cook, don't expect to many dishes I made myself other than the basics. The most advanced thing I can do is cook an egg over easy without breaking or overcooking the yoke 95% of the time.

I did a build your own pasta special at my college's cafeteria with spaghetti, marinara sauce, green and red peppers, bacon and olives. The olives were like the worst quality kalamatas I've ever had and the whole thing was cold. I'm going to refrain from ordering that again.

EDIT: Dada, that looks much better than any chicken from KFC I have ever seen.

It was too salty and I think next time I'll add more flour and use milk as the binder instead of egg. But it wasn't too bad for a first try.

but actually, I am curious, was it saltier than KFC?

It definitely looks better than KFC.

Yep I used the tiny wings, but these were the extra ones I couldn't fit on my main plate :)
