This is a game from my childhood (mid-80's), I don't know what sytem it ran on, but it was definitely for a computer (Amiga, Macintosh, etc.). The game was in full color if that helps. All I can remember about it was that it was a medieval fantasy game where you played a knight or something similar. And you traveled across an overworld map meeting challenges and such (sorta like mini-games). For example one had you trying to escape from a pit by jumping on platforms to reach the top and get out. Another had you crossing a bridge (oriented at a 45 degree angle) trying to dodge past a troll. I've been searching for this game for years, as I only ever played it at my friends house, and really would like to see it again. If anyone has any idea, please fill me in. Thanks.

Okay, I'm kind of embarrassed I can't remember this game, and I was playing it not so long ago.

It's an isometric-view, grid-based strategy game (a la tactics) with mechwarrior-like robot units, who can have thier arms/legs/shoulders/torsos upgraded and swapped, as well as individually targeted during combat.

Kind of sounds like a Front Mission game, but I'm not entirely sure about individual targeting for mech parts.
Anyway... I played a bit of this... And I'm not so fond of the setting. I hate that whole ghetto "gangsta fo life" thing, and I've never been much of a baseball player.

Ah yes, Front Mission, that's it. Thanks!
Yea, I guess I got the body part targeting from another mech game...

You can't really "target" them persay, it's pretty much up to chance whether or not you'll hit the part you want (usually the torso), but still each part does have seperate HP.

Hi I just found this but I want to know if there's an English version because it looks pretty hardcore

The title is Makamaka (Maka-maka?) apparently

This has been bugging me all day, and I really can't place it. I can't remember anything about this game, but all I have is this phrase in my head that I am sure is from the game. It's something like 'We've received word that [ x ] have sent away all their armies against [ y ]. They're virtually defenceless!'

I am not sure if that's even what is said but it's something like that, and I'm SURE it's from a game and I'm going to go crazy if I don't work this one out.

I can't remember what the game's called, I only played a short demo of it back in 1999 or something.

Basically, its a point and clicker for PC with kind of primitive looking 3D graphics.  The main character is a ginger early 20s/stoner character and you have to look for certain things to clean up your room and leave the house or some shit like that.

I remember it being pretty fun and was pretty pissed off when the demo ended. Anyone know the name of the game?

Alright, I got one. Two actually. The first one was a platformer that came out around the time of D/Generation, Ringworld, Contraption Zack, Commander Keen, etc. It was for PC, and the only thing I remember about it was that it was a platformer and that when you completed a level it had this overworld-type map (you couldn't do anything on it) that forced you to walk a path to the next level.

The second one was also a platformer for PC that starred what looked like Duke Nukem in 2D. In fact I could've sworn that it was a Duke Nukem game, but can't find anything about it. The main thing I remember about it was that you had a Jetpack you could use that needed fuel.

The first two Duke Nukem games were 2D platformers, and there was also a side-scrolling Duke Nukem game released in 2002 called Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project.

The only DOS game 'I' have played that had an overworld map is "Xargon" http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/157

That might be it, but I remember it being kind of "dark", like the first level was in a castle or something. I'll download it anyway and see if it's what I remember.

Bah, it wasn't the first 2 and it definitely wasn't Manhattan Project. The key thing I remember was that you had a jetpack that you needed for most part of the first level.

Oh well, thanks anyway guys.

EDIT: Rev, I played the game you suggested did seem oddly familiar for some reason. Maybe that was the game I was looking for afterall.

That sounds awfully like 3d Realms Secret Agent games, though I'm not sure if there was a jetpack or not. But give it a looksie anyway

Nope, the game looked a bit better graphically. And when I say a bit better, I mean like vastly graphically better.

EDIT: Thanks for the link to the site though, I checked around and looked at the Duke Nukem II screenshots, and the screenshots they have on the site look like they might what I'm looking for. I'll check the first level of it and see. *crosses fingers*

Would that jetpack game be Alien Carnage / Halloween Harry?

Would it be Emperor? Its a chinese city building game, when a rival attacks another rival you get a message like that.

Well, it wasn't Nukem II afterall. Nice find goat, I read the description and it sounds exactly like the game I'm looking for (mainly the "sewer" part). Downloading now.

EDIT: Woot. Thanks a lot goat, that was the game I was looking for. And thanks to everyone who tried to help.

Yea, I guess I got the body part targeting from another mech game...

I have always thought that being able to target enemy body parts would make the game much deeper and more fun.
