That double episode was a huge disappointment. :'[

I don't know how someone can fill 30 minutes on TV with looping stare cycles...

Theres not much they could have done about it being "drawn out."  The pointless filler's is generally probably to cure the "Drawn out" feel, yet people will complain of both; they could fix it by including more manga chapters into episodes, but then they'd have to do a filler arc earlier again and then people would AGAIN complain.  Theres no winning with people.

The only way I could see it being fixed is doing more manga chapters per episode, and doing 1 episode every 2 weeks; but that would never happen because of business.  And even then people would bitch and whine.

I'd love if all the shounen series were done in the same way as Major. Major starts in January, airs for 26 episodes and then there's a break till next January. It's not slow and the quality is very good. If shounen series were handled this way, it would be awesome.

Also, I think they should add more filler scenes to the canon. They have done pretty good job at it so far, it's far better idea than drag the manga scenes in such a boring way.

Yeah, I think that filler scenes are usually handled pretty decently.  Theres a greater level of success with adding 1-2 scenes per episode of filler then entire filler episodes it seems.  I guess its just a lot easier.

Sasori's extended past was pretty good filler. Anyway, I think this arc is going at a much faster pace than the past one which is a good thing. There have only been 3 slow episodes: 36 (the best out of the three because the filler was good); 38 (could have added more fighting to the simulation); 40 (slowest episode yet). I didn't count 39 since the chapters it covered were also slow.

Don't forget the 10 minutes worth of back to back clips of Naruto and Oro staring at each other in ep 41!

No they wouldn't. People only complain about the long filler period in the end of part 1 because the anime writers are pretty horrible when they have to come up with stories on their own. If you read manga and then watch anime, you notice that a lot of scenes in Naruto are filler and they are well done too. They should had extended the fight with some new scenes or something else instead of staring. The problem is, whoever directed episode 40 can't direct for shit. Episode 41 had some nice filler scenes (like Naruto's monologue about Sasuke, that was well done) which was already a lot better than what we got in 40.

Aww, my bad but well put DS, I agree actually. That Sasuke part and seeing Naruto go Yonbi (since he only had four of the ninetales, I don't consider him elligible of Kyubi title...then again, there is already a Yonbi...) was cool. But there only like one or two punches in that whole hour, usually with filler inbetween. Just put in some more fighting clips or even use a little bit from the next ep. That buildup was just too much imo. It was supposed to be the uber dramatic OMG fight that many have waited around 40 weeks/eps for, but we just got a bunch a filler, some good, some meh...

Whenever I go to large Naruto communities like Narutofan, etc, they almost always complain about any filler related material put into non-filler episodes(Except for a few rare exceptions.)
I agree that they should have added filler stuff, because I also agree that it tends to be fairly well done.  But like I said, whenever I go to communties they always complain about any optin they take.  There seems to never be a "winning" option for the,.

man ......40-41, whichever, long ass time just on the bridge. SO STUPID. and now i heard that dattebayo wont be subbing anything until YouTubers and Veoh people take off DB's subs off those sites. 42 should HOPEFULLY be interesting considering that naruto will go crazy. ah well

Well, none of the eps so far have been REALLY EXCITING or anything so if you are looking for nice fighting, you'll want to check next week's episode. Episode 41 is pretty great though, 40 not so.

If you are looking for other stuff than fighting:

I'd say 31, 33 and 35 are good, especially 33 and 35.

39 was pretty good too, and I suppose 29-30 double episode was decent. Naruto in kyuubi mode was raped here though, and Kakashi using his new move was dragged on for too long.

Yeah the new EP is horrible.

It was a good episode, it only covered 2 chapters as I expected so it wasn't as action packed as it could/should had been with such great animation.

Yeah the ED could have been better.

Anyway, the only thing I disliked about this episode is the fact that it should've gone just a little faster. At least the next episode seems to be great too.
