He's a Resident Evil character

About the game, I'd really like to see some difference between Mario and Luigi. The two are the cornerstone (well, more Mario) of Nintendo, and more than just colors would be nice.

They've never been the same. The similarities more or less end in appearance and a similarity in move set in the first game. Luigi jumps so much higher and slower, and has plenty of different moves. I'm not just talking about Side/Up-B, his A attacks are different as well. They're actually totally different characters with A FEW similarities.  :fogetangry: :fogetangry: :fogetangry:

Well, the greatest difference I see here is that Mario has FLUDD. Luigi may have the ghost vac, would be cool.

But yeah remember that they are basically CLONES in their canon games so yeah the fact they have already introduced so many changes (mainly Melee, original not so much) is pretty good.

Yeah, Luigi's pretty much a shoe-in, so I'm looking forward to whether he'll have the Poltergust, too.  I just don't know how he would use it.  It's obviously good for drawing enemies close, but I don't see how that would be advantageous to him.

Maybe he can suck them up and blow them out like Kirby.

Pulling enemies close would be awesome- it could be like the exact opposite of FLUDD. It pushes enemies around without dealing damage, but in Luigi's case it could pull them closer rather than push them away. Could be useful for combos.

Exactly what I was thinking!

So yeah. In the delay hopefully they'll take the time to confirm Falcon, Jiggly, and Luigi.

So I guess according to this one guy who works at DigiPen, there was a playable Brawl demo at the Cafe Mario at the Nintendo HQ. He played it (with a sideways wii-mote, so keep this in mind) and according to him, wavedashing is out although you can still waveland (which I know not many of you care about, but it makes me sad in the pants), l-cancelling is in (which gives me a boner), but airdodges can no longer be controlled (which destroys my boner again). The way airdodging works now is that your character will just move in the same direction he was jumping when he airdodges, which follows the laws of physics in a way, but heavily fucks up aerial combat.

So yeah, Sakurai said he wanted to improve aerial combat. This seems like a major step back. I really hope there's some sort of metagame to Brawl or I will shit myself out of depression.

EDIT: Again, don't know how reliable this guy is, but just figured I'd share.

Sarhan, I have faith that any changes made to the gameplay will be for the best.  Sooner or later people need to realize that this is a different beast than Melee and it may be divisive as some players refuse to convert.  I know I could never quite get some of my friends to convert from the original to Melee.

That sounds wicked, Sarhan. Really interesting. Although it destroys plenty of strategies, it'll no doubt make plenty of new ones.

My only question is this: How will mid-air catching be handled? There better be a mid-air catch for items, because I rarely picked items up from the ground in Melee. Especially the hearts and such.

L-cancelling has been in since the original- it's been in the instruction manuals and stuff. It's not some super secret advanced technique that you smash fags seem to think it is. Of course it would be included.

Can't remember where I read it but one of the gaming media sites that got a chance to play the Brawl demo confirmed item catching in mid-air. It's supposed to be much easier to do than it was in melee.

If you had been watching the videos, you'd have noticed that everybody seems to move faster after landing from aerials (especially slower characters like Bowser), which made many people think that l-cancelling was now automatic. This guy confirmed that it was coming back in its original form, which is what I was happy about. I never said it was a "super secret" advanced tech, so maybe you should understand the topic before resulting to stupid "smash fag" comments?

I love that awesome video. In fact, just because it's so awesome, I'm going to post a link in case anyone here hasn't been fortunate enough to see it.
