i bet tomorrow they will announce that mega man will be in this
and sonic
You are so fucking funny! Oh man, my sides hurt...seriously...stop...I can't take the pain...
Short hop then air dodge towards the ground at an angle. You sortof slide across the ground really fast and with L-cancelling you're able to string a bunch of them together to move quickly. Look it up on Youtube.
It's something pretty much that if you can do it you're automaticaly elite and cool (but only if you use it on neutral stages with no items because making use of the game's cool features means you're not a real smash player).
All WDing means is that you have an additional technique to work with. The reason it helps so much is because it makes some otherwise useless characters, like ICs, Luigi, and Mewtwo, much better and actually give them a fighting chance. It's also like moving but without any lag afterwards (unlike with running, where you first have to stop), which gives you an advantage over other people who have to stop first.
WDing doesn't make you better than people who don't WD. I still have really close fights with two of my friends who never even bothered to learn to WD. It does however help against people who don't understand it, how it works, and how to counter against it (I was the first of my friends to learn it and I kicked their ass for a while just because they didn't know how to defend against it). Once you understand its potential and limitations, it's not hard to fight against. And the only people who think WDing makes them "lol l33t" are retards anyways, so just kick their ass and knock them off of their high horse.
What the heck is Wavedancing? (is it Psytrance??)
It's wavedashing. You do it by jumping and quickly airdodging and hitting down+left or down+right before your character even gets off the ground so that it doesn't even look like you jumped. Instead it looks like you just slid across the ground. Here's a video of it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zCmHD7KHXQAt 0:07-0:08 when the Ganondorf goes to attack, Sheik slides backwards against the ground. That's one of it's primary uses. It tricks the person into attacking and then punishes them for taking the bait. Notice how that sexy Sheik followed up and punished with a grab after Ganondorf missed his forward aerial?
And yeah, that's my Sheik from last summer when I first started going to tournaments (I still get my ass kicked hard).
